I am 53 and have been married to my wonderful husband, Scott for 25 years.
I have been on this weight loss journey for many years, see-sawing weight loss as all my attempts have been unsuccessful to maintain any of them as a life change.

I have a family history of heart disease. I just lost my brother on 4/17/2011 at age 56 to a massive heart attack. I am on cholesterol lowering and high blood pressure meds which I started last year.
Well, I can not be complacent about this anymore!

My biggest challenge still is incorporating more exercise into my life style and learning to enjoy it!

I have struggled to get off the first 20 lbs. I had to decide what was going to be most effective for me and also what I could commit to long term. I am at peace knowing this is a life long journey. Now I find that I am more about clean eating, healthy nutritious foods and finding the right balance of exercise to support continued weight loss.

My journey here on FS so far looks like the yellow brick road in Oz but I keep forging ahead. This is the longest I have stuck with a weight loss plan in my whole life! My mind, body and will to succeed is stronger than ever!!

The weight I remember feeling and looking good at was 160 so I am going to shoot for that. Boy, I have along way to go!!!

What are some of your embarassing/emotional/eye opening reasons for loosing weight?
I want to look thinner in pictures. I saw some recent pics of me in a bathing suit and I was horrified after even losing 30 lbs. Do others see me like that or do they see what I see when I look in the mirror? I wonder about that because in the mirror I think I look pretty good. In the pictures, not so much. Just tells me I still have along way to go!

Can anyone offer feedback about a program called Naturally Slim?
Just completed my first on-line video today. This is going to be interesting. I just reset my weight to a new plan.

Morning Protein
I re-read your post because I did not get the impression that you were eating while driving, just that you needed something quick in the morning before you left for that long arduous drive.
I really don't like to eat anything anytime while driving, it reminds me too much of the people you see going to fast food drive thrus and then trying to mash some mega empty calorie fat and sodium laden breakfast/lunch/dinner mess into their mouth while driving.
If you must have breakfast while driving, I would opt for a great protein shake, I make mine with whey protein, iced coffee and soymilk shaken and off I go if I am short on time.
The other option I offered up above is if you have time to sit down before you leave and need something quick, n/f plain greek yogurt, fruit, a great complex carb granola.

"Still Counting Calories? Your Weight-Loss Plan May Be Outdated"
I so agree with this article. If it were merely as simple as calories in vs calories out, I would have lost over 80 lbs already. The science of weight loss is not that simple I am afraid.
