Mary's Mini - Day 9
Survived GI meet & greet yesterday without too much drama. Colonoscopy scheduled for end of July, and lil sister found him to be acceptable compared to most of my other Dr's.
On the other hand, my visits with the Dentist & the Pain Dr. on Monday not as much.
Today started off with my boss informing me that letter, or no letter I am expected to be back in the office on July 1st! JEEZ, 3 weeks, I've gotta get control of this pain or else I will be out of a job. Then when I requested a transition period of working from home 2 out of the 5 days to start with, she almost lost her mind! I pointed out she'd allowed another coworker to transition in, which only pissed her off more, because I shouldn't compare my situation to anyone else's. She did eventually agree to my first 2 weeks back, but because of the holiday, won't really make that much of a difference.
GRRR...God bless adrenaline, because it blocks pain, which got me thru these first few hours today. Wish me luck folks, I'm going to need it.

If you have a note, why can they fire you? I understand AZ is an "At Will" state, but maybe you should check out ARIZONA EMPLOYMENT PROTECTION ACT to see if you qualify for protected leave. Either way, I hope you feel better and keep rockin' the losses!

I learned these tricks from another patient. She was sucking on hard candy whole evening before colonoscopy (yellow one). It satisfied hunger much better than clear liquids. Butter your butt generously with Vaseline- intestinal content is too basic and will destroy your anus. Take diaper with you on the day of colonoscopy…. They fill your butt with all types of liquid…. It might leak. Good luck. I hope they do not find anything unusual.

I agree with Katsolo, you want a record of all this to protect yourself. Also, is there an HR department? If so, they might intervene for you. Best, of course, would be to finally get that pain under control, hope that happens soon. 💜
