Katsolo's Journal, 19 June 2020

So San Diego slipped and we are back in the more conservative stay at home mode indefinitely. I am still getting my hair cut in three hours as far as I know. They have banned social gatherings at one's home through the end of the year, don't know if they can really do that, but I'll leave court challenges to the richer set of the county and just tag along on the final decisions. That order pretty much kills doing anything on the Fourth other than sitting outside drinking a beer alone in a lawn chair getting sunburned and maybe shooting at stuff with my airsoft gun. I've got some leftover sand in the back of the car, I can put on some sunscreen and roll around in the sand to recreate a normal fourth. Sounds delightful. I also just spent more money on ugly things to cover my face even when it gets really hot. That's going to be super fun. I'm in a mood now. 2020 sucks.

Chicken tenderloins, sweet potato, goat cheese and spinach with ranch.

I'm so disappointed. Hey, here's five days off, but you can't leave your house, see your friends, drink outside the house or party. yay... yard work FTW.

Actually, I think I may order some rocks for the yard to be delivered that weekend. If I push through this weekend, I'll have time to spread them round my office. Woot woot. Party on.

Wow! California never ceases to me amaze me in recent years.

I know is tough, but not staying at home and gathering with other people means the disease will spread more and more. Spain's experience with the coronavirus has been awful. Really tough measures of confinement for everybody except essential workers during many weeks were needed to flatten the curve. And even so, so many people have died. I can't encourage you too much to accept confinement, social distancing and using masks as your way of contributing to fewer people dying. Staying home is for heroes!

Eva, thanks for snapping me out of a virtual fit. I wasn't planning on going out or doing anything crazy, but I needed the reality check. It's still very much in play. I drove by the beach this weekend and it was packed. Scary, because all those people are going to spread out on their way home. I will embrace my space.
