Some of us give a shit ;). It’s good to change things up every so often. Sounds like a good plan!

I'd like to see how you do without weighing every day. I've tried to weigh and post every day, but just can't do it. I have a quarantine haircut. I blame it on the glass of wine I was drinking (I rarely drink) and the original intent was to shave my head and see how much grows back by the time the stay at home order ends. But I chickened out. Still cut it short and it's uneven. I have 2 wigs so if I have something if I have to look halfway decent. I bought the wigs to wear when I go to the coast where my hair just frizzes but I really like having them. It's nice to have it seem like I have nice, thick and styled hair whenever I want.

When I started going to a nutritionist she told me only to weigh myself once a week. I got it down to twice a week. It's harder than you think. Weight fluctuates so much due to many variables. You will find it interesting for sure. Good luck!
As for quarantine hair, you are beautiful so I'm sure you look great. My hair is so gray and I'm not sure why I just don't do it myself but I'm actually thinking of growing gray out...I'm kind of vain though n not sure I can handle it..lol

I did not own a scale when I lost most my weight I liked not being too focussed on the daily fluctuations but just trusting the process. Scale sometimes does stress me out and it does not tell me anything I do not already know if I am being honest... Good luck!

Before I joined FS, I had gone a year without weighing myself, only during my annual visit to my doctor, and I maintained (of course, I was, and am, very fat). I hope I'll be able to do that again one day when I am at a better weight (maintain, not weigh myself only once a year). Good luck Princess, hope this works well for you. 💛

Speaking of scales (and thanks for support and advice Diana, Liv, Shirfleur, and Drag) I didn't own a scale and it was the fattest time in my life. I had gone to the doctor and the nurse was weighing me and I assumed I weighed about 240 (which disgusted me but still) And she put the one part to 250 and slid the other little thing across the top trying to get it to balance. It kept going up and up. I literally got so freaked out and nervous that i reached up and flung it all the way back over to the other side. And I had to apologize because it freaked her out a little and I actually caught myself by surprise. So embarrassing. Anyhow- 296- started a diet right then and there. It was the heaviest I have ever been.

I’ve been taking that approach for a while. I weigh in once a month or once every few months just to monitor progress. Seems to be less stressful that way. Imo changes take time anyway so setting goals on a monthly basis seem more practical than day to day or week to week. 🤷🏻♂️

@Chris- anytime she trains a new person- You have to be very careful weighing fat girls... You never know what they might do. 😳😂 LMAO! BTW- I wrote you back, now write me back. Let's discuss this thoroughly. I'm going to send another message real quick.

When I was well over 200#, the damn women weighing me would always start that scale at 150#, then gradually move the smaller weight up, then the big one up to 200#, and so on. I eventually would just say, I weigh 235#, start there and save yourself some time! I'm sure they were just trying to be nice.

Too funny. 😂 I always wished they would start at the 250 mark so the movement down to the 229 (I was actually at) looked like I had lost. They never did it.

Right, Melissa!! 😆 it's worse to be put through it starting low.

These last few appointments - I rarely go to doctors except mammograms and stuff...but they are digital usually so that's nice. None of that toying around in the 100's. 😜

I could tell you a similar scale story. Back when I was still working I took my daughter and first grandchild to the Henry Doorley Zoo in Omaha NE. They had some Baby Gorillas we wanted to see. While we were watching the antics of the little apes, I saw a digital scale with a monitor above it for giving the weight of the great apes. I went over and stepped on it. To my amazement, I was not just over weight, I was fat! It read 265. I went home and started a diet right away. It was like a slap in the face.

It's definitely something I don't want to re-live! Especially since 235# wasn't my highest weight. Most Dr scales are digital nowadays anyway....but still! It doesn't matter what I weigh, I always feel like I'm on 600# life....get on the scale......fade out to a commercial break.....then the weight pops up (cut to nurse's disgusted expression). 😢

I suspect you will be delighted with your choice to do something different even if just for a while. And, I've been highly entertained reading all the comments and stories. Thanks for the giggles, y'all! 😁

I've been shocked on the doctor's scale too. I remember I had no choice but to lose weight when the scale said over 180 at the doctor's office and I had never been as high as 160. That was many years ago but that is what happens to me when I stop weighing at home.
