That's great, Nana Ellen! (Torture is *not* necessary -- or recommended -- if and when you trust and cooperate with the LCHF/keto process!)

Thanks for the comment. Torture is how I feel every time I step on the scale. Hopefully It will become a pleasure

If the scale is "torture," consider weighing once a week. Concentrate on proper macro balance (high fat, moderate protein, low carbs) and a calorie "deficit." A keto calculator, if you haven't already consulted one, will help set your macro and calorie targets. (Feel free to adjust the numbers a bit if you need to, but keep the proportions similar.) Drink plain water as your beverage of choice and keep track of the amount. (I log water in my food diary.) The more the better, but start with a minimum of four measured 8-oz. glasses a day. I keep water with me at all times and constantly "sip" in addition to 8 glasses a day. Lastly, concentrate on colorful high-fiber vegetables (e.g., sweet peppers, asparagus, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage varieties) Leave fruit aside for now, or add no more than 4 oz. of berries when you do. (It's OK to eat real whipped cream on fruit, heavy cream in tea/coffee (I detest Bulletproof coffee, myself!), and real butter on your vegetables. (Those keto-legal "splurges" make life worth living, as far as I'm concerned!) Best wishes! Go for it!

I do not like the scale. So I did step on it once to get sort of an idea where I was but not since. I have used measurement and clothing. Just works better for me at this point. It will happen!!!!! Hang in there

The scale can be deceiving, because your weight can fluctuate a lot from day to day. As an example, 2 cups of water weighs 1 pound. And it’s very possible to add two cups of water over the course of a day. Pay attention to trends over time. What helped me when I started was to track my weight every day, but average it out every week. This helped me get a better understanding of how much weight I was loosing. But keep up the good work, and trust your program. You can always change something if it’s not working.

Hi~ you sound like me! I looked at your diet calendar. IF you log and weight everything you should be losing weight. You are also not eating enough some days. The only food suggestion I have is change your mayo to a no carb mayo. Thats it. You are doing a great job. I didn't start losing weight till I got on THYROID! ANd it is still slow, and I eat what ever I want keto and try to zero carb. There are always some hidden carbs in heavy cream. I also keep under 20. Some people get fat adapted and don't show ketones on their sticks. The MORE fat I eat , the more PURPLE they are. The more hydrated they are the less they show ketones. I always show some though. I read some people who are now fat adapted, like you, don't show ketones on the sticks and need to test via blood. But if you are for sure under 20 you have to be in ketosis! And lucky you, you have energy! WHooohooo. If you want info on the thyroid labs we SHOULD be getting go to Stopthethyroidmadness website. Dr Berry also has a video somewhere on it. He did my labs, and we tried a few things. I got on the correct hormones and then thyroid. Finally slowly losing. I TOO AM ALSO UP AND DOWN a few pounds. It is normal. HANG IN THERE! SO glad your blood work and your energy is up! We will figure this out. Nice to meet ya :-) KETO ON!

Ya, I just tried the avocado mayo and it was gross lol. I'm still searching. I think Dukes is no sugar. I now read every ingredient in everything. Even things I've bought before, they sneak carbs in to pork rinds. Shame. 😵 oh oh oh there are recipes to make your own keto mayo. There is even bacon mayo 🐽🐷

Mayonnaise is pretty easy to make. It’s just oil, some kind of acid (vinegar or lemon juice), salt, mustard powder, and an egg. Mix it all together with an Emerson blender and you’re golden. You can use a food processor but you have to add the oil in real slowly. Olive oil can be too sting, but I find avocado oil works nicely. Once you’ve had homemade mayonnaise you’ll wonder why you ever bought it from the store.
