Day 1 of a planned 5 day 'no solid food fast'
Blood sugar 123 mg/dL
I had a blowout birthday weekend in in New York that got 'out of control' eating-wise, and then got 'extra out of control' due to a delayed flight. They took us off the plane and proceeded to feed us free carbs (chips, soda, ham sandwiches, cookies, pretzels). This went on for hours.
Anyway, had a great time and the fast re-starts today. I'm only going to do 5 day fasts for the next few weeks (until I get down to 165lbs) because I was getting bored on my last 11 day fast and it didn't move the scale much past the 5th day and that sucked a lot of the motivation out of it.
My 123 morning blood sugar reading is alarming! Now, I really did 'have-that-many-carbs' yesterday, but still, that is Type-2 diabetes range. Even if I do have T2 I would still stick to my normal diet, low carb and fasting. However, a morning reading like this just shows me that if I thought I could eat carbs like 'normal' people I would be slowing killing myself...
