Happy Thursday everyone!! I am happy to say that we made it back from our vacation, though there were a few days that were not planned, and we are broke as church mice, but we are alive and home and that is what matters.
I hope you have all had a wonderful week so far! We got back yesterday, after planning to be back Monday, but there was some car trouble that held us up in a small...SMALL town in Illinois. We had a great time, the wedding was beautiful, though very small, and the people were fabulous. We went to Graceland, which was smaller than I thought, but still really cool to see. We then drove through the Appalachian mountains from West Virginia to Dayton OH, which was a gorgeous drive. We stopped in Point Pleasant, WV to see the Mothman museum and get some pictures. We drove and drove and drove and drove. The hardest part for me was tip to tip in Tennessee...it just seemed to take forever. It was a rough drive, but totally worth it. I feel like we have gained lifelong friends in these couples that we went to see. We are already planning another trip, this time, they are coming to us! haha!!
I have to tell you all, God really watched out for us on this trip. Like I said, we were stuck in Greeville, IL for 3 days, because my car broke down. We found a mechanic who did over $3000 worth of work for $550, which was a God send. They took care of us, got us to a hotel in a safe place, really made us feel good about their work. We were 40 miles from St Louis and the guy told us that he didnt feel comfortable taking us there, because it was East St Louis, which can be a dangerous area. He said that without knowing the area and having a place to go, he would feel better if we stayed in greenville. I thought he was going to try to scam and take advantage of us, because we were from out of town, but he took such good care of us. I called my brother, who is a service writer for a car dealership, and walked him through what was going on and he was worried that we wouldnt be able to afford to get it all fixed, but was shocked when they only charged what they did. I know that it was God, he took care of us, and I could never give Him enough thanks!
Today I will give God thanks for watching over my husband and I. I will praise him for His goodness and mercy. I pray that he blesses us all int he same way that we were blessed on this trip. I worship him with a thankful heart for His protection. I praise him in all I do!! I pray for all of us, to have a better today than yesterday. I pray for strength and willpower. Thank you Lord!!! In your holy name, Amen!!
