keto girl here: I'm out of ketosis huh.

yesterday I tried something different. I am still OMAD. I added "carbs" 1 serving of chia seed, 1 cup of broccoli, a bowl of lettuce and 2 c of almond/coconut milk which said 2 total carbs and 1 serving almonds (32g).

does anyone get kicked out of ketosis from chia seed or broccoli or that silk milk? It was about 35 g TOTAL carbs. I thought I would be in ketosis still. mehh. Oh well. I'm go easy on the fat today. I'll check later. I think I need a ketomojo to check my ketones to find out exactly what fiber kicks me out. I like salads. hmmm. keto on.

I have no advice because I’m learning all the tricks from everyone here I follow you a lot lol because you’re doing so great. I’m still learning the lingo. What does OMAD mean?

I get kicked out of ketosis easy too. Any carbs over 20-25 sets me back. The older I get the more difficult it is. Last time I had a cheat night, it took me 5 days to get back. Are you sure the milk was unsweetened?

Rainrshine yup for sure but sweetened. I've never had it before. I liked it with only one carb. I bet it was the chia seeds and broccoli. Hell, if I'm going to get kicked out of ketosis, it should be from PIZZA HAHA 🍕😝

That is rough. Are you measuring your ketosis? I think do to rounding issues that labels "cheat" with things that contains carbs are never zero carbs. So I would take into account carbs from things like coconut milk and chia seeds. Maybe go back and just add one thing at a time and see if you spot anything?

Katies, yup, I usually eat over a few hours. I can't eat while working so that helps. One meal a day. OMAD

Jcmamma I broke my own advice. I was hoping veggies wouldn't kick me out but they did. My advice is always 20 total carbs not net. Guess I need to stick to my own advise 😝👍

I noticed that I had to balance every meal or it wouldn’t matter that I was only eating 10 whole carbs a day. Gotta eat that fat! Also your body should go right back into ketosis from broccoli but won’t from pizza 🤣🤪

It's a fine balane - sometimes I lose when I eat a little more.

Sroscca I've been bouncing around the same 2 pounds for a month. I won't know unless I eat the veggies for a week or more. Hard to tell. I'm trying to break a plateau.

Draglist that is interesting. I'm wondering if I can keep the veggies and do omad. I will probably be back until keto later today. I did 20 carbs today with chia seed and a few other things. I'm trying to give up cow dairy this month. No cheese, goat cheese ok test

Moopie you are wrong, you don't count net! very few people can count net. Ive been keto for a long time. If you can count net, your lucky! MOST people who are older can not. You should always start with total 20 carbs. Then try adding but test your ketosis.

I think there’s something wrong with FatSecret I posted 2 links from dietdoctor and ruledme on net cabs being 20-25 g and 30-40 for total to be keto.

Best to get a blood ketone tester - I use Keto MOJO because the test strips are the least expensive ones I found, and it also tests BS.

Gz9gig I have a breath ketone meter but ya. Do you ever have to retest because of bad readings, I know with my glucose meter some strips are bad. I'm just curious

...so, you do realize that you lost 10 pounds since November? It *may* be slower than you would like, but, your weight loss program *IS* working :)

jenjabba, I have not had problems with my test strips. I generally test for ketones first, then glucose.
