I’m blessed with low T. (was below 200) but I’m now on a weekly self injection. Dr wants to check that level every 3-6 months. Sooo we have the option of checking anything else also at those times. Cholesterol has never been that far out of the normal range but haven’t been checked in almost a year either. Today’s results are:
Testosterone 643 (normal range 200-1000)
But not at the age of 62 😎😇💪!
Total cholesterol 140 (should be less than 200)
LDL 67 (should be less than 100)
HDL 56 (should be greater than 40)
Didn’t check particles but have been reading up on Total/HDL ratios: my ratio is 2.5. Amerigas I right?😎
What’s in a ratio?
Your cholesterol ratio is calculated by dividing your total cholesterol by your HDL number. For instance, if your total cholesterol is 180 and your HDL is 82, your cholesterol ratio is 2.2. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), you should aim to keep your ratio below 5, with the ideal cholesterol ratio being 3.5. Read about the effects of high cholesterol here.

To my knowledge I’ve never been in Ketosis. Started focusing on eating healthier and cutting carbs little by little almost a year ago. At some point a few months ago weight started dropping pretty quickly but as just trying to keep carbs less than 100. Hard for a beer drinker....
Side note: guys OVER 50 you might get your thyroid checked whenever it’s convienent. Thyroid function directly effects T levels. Lots of hype about T levels these days and it’s all focused on sexual performance and sales BS. T effects many many different areas so get T levels checked by your trusted physician. If you are low for any reason getting it back into the normal range for your age will surprise you!

On the low T levels... hubby fell asleep driving. He couldn’t stay awake when sitting in his recliner. He could barely make it through his workouts. Many issues. They gave him a very inexpensive T cream. It helped for a bit then they raised it. Takes naps but doesn’t fall asleep as soon as he sits down now. No more close calls driving etc. It’s worth getting it checked out! And ladies... the plus side (or not so plus for some lol) is that it’ll seem like you are married to a 20-25 year old again lol. I wish low T test was standard because my hubby would’ve been feeling better long before if we had known!
