I am OFF carbs until I lose 70 pds I haven't had bread in my home in years I do buy healthy crackers with quinoa and other seeds that are great and I eat cheese and nuts instead, but I don't eat pasta but substitute that for spegetti squash you should try it, its delicious and doesn't have the carbs that pasta but is still good

@janinehenschel, I have 54 lbs. to reach a "normal" BMI (down from the 117 lbs. that I had to lose in 2003). So I, too, am "off carbs" from starches. I've also begun fasting a minimum of 18-20 hours daily, using guidelines from Drs. Berry and Fung. Good luck on your journey!

Well she’s actually moving in for the rest of the summer 😆☠️☠️☠️ I figure it’s my way of paying it forward. If someone could have done for me what I’m doing for her I would’ve left my marriage along time ago. Steve gets home the day after tomorrow, and he’s definitely going to take over as the man of the house. I will gladly watch him get everything in order. He’s actually very supportive of having her and her kids here. He has that mentality, the save the world mentality.

May God bless you with love and blessings for what you are doing I took my son ‘s friend in and he just left 3weeks ago Only took 14 yrs of ups and downs to have him able to go and he still would come back in a heartbeat 💗 And May Steve be able to cope with the changes in the house 🏠 3 more kids is quite an adjustment not to mention double the estrogen LOL I see lots of fishing days ahead 🐟😊🙋🏻‍♀️

KayBuckaroo, I understand the desire to show compassion, but you have *so much* going on already: The separation from your husband in the midst of the move to a new home around last year's holidays; a relatively young relationship with Steve with a baby on the way; your two sons' own adjustments to their father's leaving within the last 7-8 months *and* to your relationship with Steve... The stressors on your "four-plus-one" immediate family are daunting. While it's admirable to support a friend (and her three children) in crisis, the welfare of your children must be paramount. Don't be afraid to assert the needs of yourself and those who depend on you.

And all that with a very physically demanding job, too. You must set boundaries and stick to them.

Yes when you summarize the changes I’ve had, they sound pretty daunting don’t they. Definitely need to talk about an end date with my friend and what I’m thinking is no later than August. I have very strict rules for her children and even for her, and that has been a good boundary setting experience for me so far. I need to have help with chores and shopping, and so far she’s been happy to do that. Seems like we’ve had the most difficulty with the vehicle. So I need her to prioritize purchasing her own. What’s hardest for me is the fact that I remember when we were both on public Assistance back in our early 20s, a single moms together. And I know how far we have both come so I just need to know I’m giving her the best care and support, but meanwhile it sure ain’t easy. Thank you so much for your support and your concern about me and my kids!

Miraculum! I’m impressed with your professional advice. I read a lot of your comments here and there, you are an awesome writer and express and advise so carefully!! 👍🏻👍🏻🥰🥰 Kay, do take care. It’s great to help out, but sometimes greater to know when to stop!!

@KayBuckaroo and wifey9707, I come by my understanding honestly. My former husband had custody of his three young kids (1985-2003). I paid, in myriad ways, for the privilege and had A LOT of counseling and therapy, but I still have nightmares. In June 1994, right after the Simpson-Goldman "Butchering in Brentwood," I rescued a lying, manipulative pair, a co-worker-and-daughter. "Madonna" (HER REAL NAME!) claimed that her husband (MY IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR!) -- was beating her. I was afraid for their safety and so invited her to move in with us. Getting them to move out after three months of moody craziness was like trying to remove a deeply-burrowed tick!
