interesting day, yesterday for whatever reason, my body wanted to be fed. I really chowed down on extra fat and steak earlier in the day.I ate well for both breakfast and lunch! I was not really hungry the rest of the day. at 7pm regardless I had a late night snack of the fatty steak as I was not going to wake up because I underrate or did not have enough to last the night. still watching my blood glucose levels they seem to drop when I don't expect it. I did sleep until 3;30 which is good for me and needless to say I did gain a bit with the way over eating yesterday (which I am not concerned about) but today I am absolutely not hungry and here at close to lunchtime I am just thinking about eating, not actually ready yet. I logged what I thought I was going to eat this morning. Blood ketones staying in the mid 2's and the blood glucose staying in the 4 range. so I don't feel like I have to eat. so I am going to let it ride for a while. I think adding more fat is getting my body into fat burning mode instead of dropping my blood glucose. that is a plus to help with this roll around my waist! thinking positive today!

I think that while I am socially conditioned around a 24 clock, my body isn't :)

Always great to keep thinking positive!! I am amazed by how you keep track of all your numbers and figure out how to tweak them - I don't have a clue what any of my numbers are - I just go by how I feel - have a great week!

It is just that normally, when I eat, I think my body should be hungry 'the next day'. But, maybe my body only need to eat every 36 hours not every 24. Maybe it has no 'set' time at all.

What time do you go to sleep Baskington? I wake up between 3-3:30 most nights. My mom is convinced there is somebody near by with an alarm going off lol The high strength magnesium isn’t helping you sleep anymore?

ah now I get it. but does it, you are feeding it every day, maybe not natural food but you are getting protein and calories. when you do strict no calorie no carb is when you should be able to tell your eating cycle. mine has a mind of its own and it varies by what I feed it. Yesterday I had 140 grams protein and 160 gram animal fat. overnight my readings today of really hot ketones 2.4 2.5 and last 3.9 and more normal glucose last reading going with the high ketones was dropping so I ate. only thing I had was 1 tablespoon of heavy whipping cream with my first coffee and stevia and second cup several hours later coffee and stevia. testing something for muscle relief. so it is basically total fasting with only a tiny bit of fat adding to the equation. super fat burner day.

Crash my internal clock gets me up normally at 4am, so this minor 1/2 early is a pleasant change from my waking up and not being able to get back to sleep from 1 or 2 am. no cramping either if I am careful not to under eat. the high potency magnesium in this bulk form does wonders and I low dose it, it effects me extremely well so I am careful.

I do acknowledge that the 'sleeping once a day' must affect what the body does. This 'fasting' every day (for most of us who can sleep regularly) MUST have a big impact on what the body does. .. but, does a 'sleep fast' COMPLETELY 're-set' us? Did what you had yesterday affect you more today than you would normally think?

yes because even though I vastly overate my normal calories, I ate over 2000 calories it was lower ratio of protein to fat. I ate so much my body was satisfied and happy. in return I did not have low fasting glucose not only this morning but all day up to 2pm with no food. That is a radical difference in what has been happening with the low glucose readings in the morning even though I eat up to maintenance calories. I had another higher fat than protein late lunch and I will eat again as much as my body wants later on tonight to ensure I get a good nights sleep. it will be higher fat. I don't think of this as a sleep fast it is just a few hours of no food. generally for me it is 9 to 10 hours but yesterday I ate later around 7 7;30. I am fully convinced the animal fat increase late in the day, not other types of fat caused my body to not drop my glucose. We will see tomarrow morning with the lower calories I eat and the increased fat level effects my morning. I had just under 700 calories for lunch and I doubt I will eat way over that later.

so I don't think the short term sleep resets us, I think what we ate carries over to the next day good or bad. I am always in ketosis that is a given, so I don't have to wait to burn off excess carbs to be fat burning. Just need to burn off the calories I ingested You are in ketosis most of the time except when you carb up. if you stayed in ketosis all the time you would eventually fat adapt and your body would use fat as its main source of food. remember I am also low exercise right now, healing and slowly getting back to it. 150 calories yesterday burned at cardio. today nothing so far and I may be taking the day off watching all this.
