I'm a twenty-two year old woman, currently in her third trimester of pregnancy, who has gained a bit too much weight so far. I gained around five or ten pounds immediately before getting pregnant (cruise food, you know how that goes) and proceeded to have a truly miserable first trimester wherein I could only stomach Hamburger Helper and cheese.
Although I continued to eat poorly and sleep a lot, I was still shocked to see myself gain ten pounds between weeks twenty and twenty-four alone. I don't have gestational diabetes or any other excuse. I was just eating badly. It made me realize I needed to really watch what I was eating and make myself get moving again.
I'm now focusing on nutrition and (slowly) improving while my baby weight climbs at a much more reasonable rate than ten pounds per month. I'm due at the end of September and hope to be back to my pre-pregnancy, pre-cruise weight within a year.
