Low-Cal but not Low-Carb - How much should I be eating?!?!
Is it possible to lose weight on a strictly low calorie diet, while not particularly watching your carbs?

I'm finding a lot of "calorie calculators" and they are all giving me different suggestions on how many calories I should be eating to lose weight.

I am 5'3" and I currently weigh 175 lbs. My goal weight is 140.

I set my RDI at 1300 calories, and giving myself some leeway to go to 1400 and not feel bad. Is this too high? Too low? Help!

Also, is it normal to gain weight at first on a low calorie diet while your body adjusts to eating significantly less calories?
