Had my first workout on the bike today. :) I actually made it 20 minutes, even though I felt like my legs were going to revolt on me. LOL
I'm not doing an official weigh-in today but I did jump on the scale at the dr office and I have lost 25 lb since I started this. I am so psyched. The more I lose, the easier it is to stick with the program and make the type of lifetime changes that I need to make to keep the weight off forever.
I've been really proud of my son. He's got to be getting tired of salads and fruits edging his pizza and burgers out of space in the fridge and tired of hearing "Stay out of this please, it's for me." but he's not said a word and he's actually been encouraging in his own way.
He still has his carb laden foods but they no longer take up the entire fridge, they're relegated to a small portion so I have room for all my salad fixings and such, and he hates salad with a passion.
I went looking for "before" pictures the other day, so that some day I could have a before and after shot. I discovered that the newest picture in existence of more than just my face, is over 9 years old. Not exactly accurate but relatively close so I'm going to use that as my before pic. I look forward to the day when I can take my after. :)

Ok, so today's food diary is going to be a little off. I made a cake to test out a new lower carb recipe but I messed up. I misread my conversion chart and read the TBS as tsp so I only put in 1/3 the Truvia that it was supposed to have instead of all of it. Therefore my cake isn't sweet enough, the cocoa makes it a bit too bitter. I went ahead and logged the half slice with the proper recipe amounts anyway though because I did eat the lower carb frosting that I made to go on it.
I think this will make an excellent birthday cake substitution for this weekend once I put the right amount of Truvia in it. It tasted pretty good except the low sweetness and was more moist than I expected without using flour. I'm going to try it out on the family this weekend so I can have a birthday cake without totally blowing my lower carb plan.
I did find a place that I can work out with a stationary bike here in town, that is the best news possible. It is less than a mile from the house and won't cost me anything. The doctor and the physical therapist said I could use the bike. Maybe when I lose some more and get some strength back in my leg I will be able to move up to the elliptical too. I'm looking forward to adding some cardio to my healthier eating lifestyle.

It is cold today. Supposed to snow tomorrow, tonight's supposed to be down to 2F, which is way too cold for me. Makes a person want to curl up with a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. Guess I'll have to change that hot chocolate in for tea. Kinda missing my hot chocolate and hot apple cider but the tea isn't all that bad, there's lots of flavors in herbal so it doesn't get boring.
The weight loss continues which is really encouraging for me. First time I've ever had consistent results that didn't end at 15 lbs lost. I think I'm getting bronchitis again so I need to get back to the doctor though. :(
I found a place in town that is supposed to have a stationary bike that lets people work out for free. I have to call on monday and check it out to see if I qualify. If so, that would be great. I can use the bike and it won't mess with my knee or the physical therapy and I can get some workouts to change up my routine some, help keep things from getting boring and predictable.
All in all, my journey is going well so far, just have to keep plugging along.

Pain levels are better today, still not as low as the physical therapist wants them but they're better at least. :) Ok, so I did subway again, but I knew what I was getting into this time before I did it. I had planned a nice salad but we didn't end up where I had planned out my meal for, so had to make another decision and that was the one place that I knew I had the nutrition information available so at least I could still log everything accurately.
Carbs are a little high today because of it but still, net are under 100 which is what counts and I had a treat. Back to normal fare tomorrow.
Ok, so this is about yesterday. That's what happens when I journal after midnight. :p
