Potatoes - fast and healthy weight loss - don't argue with success!!!
I've tried lots of different diets over the years. When I was in my 30's it was easy for me to lose 50 lbs on the Atkins, low-carb diet, however, now that I'm in my 50's it just doesn't work anymore. Eating whatever and counting calories is torturous by the end of the day I just want to eat more. Dr. John McDougall advocates a low-fat starch based diet, which I've tried and probably because I had too many processed starches, white flour (pasta) I wasn't all that successful. Recently because of the website spudfit.com I tried again and ate mostly potatoes, boiled and mashed, no fat or dairy added. I mix sweet and white potatoes together for variety. I also eat about 4 servings of fruit per day and take a B12 vitamin. Also, because I exercise some and it's very hot I make sure to add a teaspoon of salt per day to my potatoes.

I've usually don't post but I had to share this. So far this is the easiest diet with the best results and it is healthy too. Give it a try!!! I still have at least 85 more pounds to lose so you can watch my results and see how I do. I've only been focusing on potatoes the last two weeks and I've had some cheat days included in that.

A pound of potatoes is only 350 calories or so, literally you can eat 4 pounds of potatoes and still be low in calories, it very satisfying. I have plenty of energy and feel great!!! No heartburn (I took proton pump inhibitors for over 30 years), no constipation (I've suffered in the past).

Good luck to all!

p.s. I just had my annual physical and blood work drawn yesterday so I'll see what effect a week or two of eating potatoes has had.

Headaches after being on low-carb diet for a week or so
I agree with Minpower above but would also suggest putting a few tablespoons of lemon juice in your water... virtually no calories/carbs but it does help to keep your electrolytes in balance. I also use sea salt if you are not eating processed foods your sodium levels may be low. I used to be a very heavy coffee drinker about 10-12 strong cups a day and when I quit caffeine I had headaches for a week or more also. I do find that low carb works the best for losing weight but long term it does have some challenges sticking with it.
