I have been interested in health, wellness, and nutrition since I went to school to study Esthetics. It was at school that I learned what's going on inside will reflect on the outside.

With my own struggles with health, weight, skin, and mood issues one thing has remained true. You are what you eat. Sorry to be so cliche!

When I eat well (as in suggested in my "diet" - go look!), I notice all sorts of wonderful benefits!
Some include better skin, confidence, better mood, stamina, better hair/nails, better digestion/elimination, I get sick less often, and of course I LOOK GOOD! :)

These are my top tips for my "non-diet". I lost 20 lbs in 10 weeks, so it must work!

1. When in doubt, have an Herbalife Formula 1 Healthy Meal Shake, with or without Personalized Protein Powder and Prolessa Duo. This ensures you are getting a quick fast meal brimming with nutrition. Drink 2 cups of water.

2. Eat foods in their whole form. Example is eat a grapefruit instead of grapefruit juice. Cut down on processed foods. Drink 2 cups of water.

3. Have a "prep" day. Take some time to prepare healthy choices for the week. Precut veggies, cook up brown rice/quinoa, precook chicken breasts, make homemade hummus dip, marinades, etc. Drink 2 cups of water.

4. Never forget to take your Herbalife Multivitamin and Cell Activator, as well as a Vitamin D supplement. Drink 2 cups of water.

5. Keep a journal of some sort. A food log, a gratitude journal, or just a notebook. Write down struggles, feelings, things you did well today, what you are thankful for, things you will do before you grab something unhealthy (such as drink herbal tea, read a magazine, stretch, breathe through it), goals, dreams, really whatever! Drink 2 cups of water.

Calorie Count too restrictive?
Just something to chime in about for everyone. Not all weight loss is equal. Essentially what we ALL want is not to lose weight at any cost but to lost FAT and gain lean muscle mass. Because after all the thing we are most after is body SHAPE.

I say don't go below 1200, see if you can get a body scan done that tells you your RMR (Resting Metabolism) is. That is how many calories your body burns without exercise. Then factor in calories burned with exercise (don't need to go overboard). From there subtract 500 cals from that total number and you should lose consistently a pound a week. That is a great rate because it really sets the foundation for permanent weight loss.
