fat burning zone
My gym offers testing to determine your correct AT. Although the 220-Age thing is okay, your best knowing the exact AT for your body. The test takes into consideration how you burn sugar and your oxygen intake. You generally find as you get more fit your AT will go up. Another way is to do it by feel. If you can hold a conversation, your not working hard enough. If you can have a one sentence conversation, your in Zone 2 (this is where you burn the most fat). Zone 3 is when can only give one word answers. After this your burning all sugar and no fat. You'll know this zone 4 or 5 because you can't answer any questions and yes, basically want to throw up.
