I did not do my bio when I first began, because I really didn't know what to say. I am a 48 year old who was always skinny. I mean really skinny. I was a dancer and a dance teacher for almost 20 years. I also bartended in high volume bars for 25 years. So I was extremely active my whole life. When I had a bad accident in 2010, I found that while I was recovering,(for a whole year) I was so sedentary that I just lost so much muscle mass that all the weight I gained was fat. I gained weight in areas that I never had fat in. I also found that my metabolism changed drastically after my accident. So, now I am looking to get my dancing body back. I don't necessarily need to be skinny, I just want to be muscular and fit again. I have always been very determined and I am going to do this! Not quitting until I am back to the original me.

Pizza substitute
The hubby and I had a great substitute for a pizza today and it killed my cheese craving! We made garlic and herb flatbread pizzas with spinach, cherry tomatoes and kalamata olives with olive oil drizzled on top. We used part skim mozzarella which does not have a lot of fat. Only 70 calories per ounce. Did have some home made marinara sauce made from tomatoes from our garden, on the side to dip in! Only 624 calories for whole meal with a salad. We will definitely do this again, maybe with some mushrooms and different toppings. I don't know if pita bread would be less calories, but either way great idea to curb the cravings. I would love some more ideas for substitutions of high calorie meals. Have a happy day everyone!Laughing

Cold hands and feet
I have had it tested several times and tests come back normal. I did have pheochromocytoma which is a tumor on my right adrenal gland. I had it removed about two years ago and tests say that the other one is working properly. My endocrinologist is one of the best in the country at Cleveland Clinic. I may reach out to him for some ideas. Thanks!

Protein bars
Thank you for your support. I was in Paris in 1987 and I loved it..so jealous you get to live there. I was wondering if the surgery I had in 2010 to repair my broken pelvis has something to do with the stubborn weight in the mid section. I had an 8 hour surgery to repair my pelvis that was broken in half.. 15 steel plates and 13 screws in me. I know they had to cut nerves in me to get to my pelvis but I can only imagine what else was damaged from the surgery. Can scar tissue and this surgery have an effect on this area that seems like it just wont let the fat go!!? And do you know of any options for damage like that?

Any ideas for stubborn weight loss
Funny that you suggested Thyroid check. All of my family has thyroid problems, but I have been checked several times and my tests come back normal. I did have a bad quad accident in 2010 and broke my pelvis completely in half. My surgery was quite extensive and involved a very long recovery, including learning how to walk again. All of my weight seems to sit from the bottom of my rib cage to the very top of my thighs. I am beginning to think that I will never loose this stubborn fat because the muscles in that area are so damaged from surgery and lots of scar tissue. Nevertheless, I will "keep on keeping on," and hopefully diligence will win over. Possibly some day in the future I will look into cool sculpting or something else to help me with that area. Thanks for the support and ideas. Off to the gym! Have a great day guys!!
