I am Ayo. I have been trying to lose weight my whole life...it seems. I definitely have been on a diet since I was 11 years old. I have managed to lose and gain several times like most of the people on this site. My highest weight was 375 and my lowest has been 185. I can't say that I have ever been stable for more than two years. My goals on this site is to get healthy! I am trying to move away from the numbers on the scale and focus on the numbers of my blood sugar, cholestorol, and blood pressure! I am doing Atkins because it keeps me off the diabetes meds and helps me not feel deprived. I also workout at 24 hour fitness with a trainer once a week, which helps me focus on living an active lifestyle!

HELP dealing with temptation
I can so relate. I had a big mac today and I have them often. I am still losing weight because I used to be 390 pounds and consume almost 5-6k calories a day. Now I can 2500 and still lose weight, but it is slowing. Good luck. I really miss eating doritos, cheetos, twix, gummy bears, and breaded fried foods. These are the foods that I never eat beacause I binge. I am in overeaters anonymous and it really has helped me with emotional eating.

HOW DO YOU JOIN A DIET??
Not sure what you mean about joining a diet, but if you're interested in atkins, buy the book, ask questions on this site about induction and go to the atkins website and you can get started in a day! Hope this helps.

In need of a fatsecret buddy.
I'd love to be your buddy. I am so excited about this site. I need to share my progress with other people. I went to the gym today and all the trainers complimented me! It was like a dream...I never thought I would be a regular in a gym and trainers would be complimenting me on my progress and great I look! I can hardly wait until I weigh in and measure on Wednesday. I am going to definitely update all my friends on fatsecret!

Weighing Daily vs. Weekly
I agree with you. I weigh weekly with my trainer, but even then sometimes women's weight fluctuate from week to week so monthly sounds like it's the best route. Although I heard that going a month without weighing means that you can gain weight and not have a reality check or you're not getting the encouragement you need from seeing the numbers go down weekly. Most people can lose .5 pounds a week when they are reducing calories and increasing activity. Thanks.
