Bar code scanner on G1
When you click Scan Barcode in the Calorie Counter app, make sure the barcode you are scanning has a lot of light, then you have to hold the camera still with the item and wait until it goes *BEEP*, and it'll start searching. If something is in the database it will give you the results, or something similar. Hope that helps!

I have the exact same problem, and it makes me not want to go to the grocery. At night, I tend to get bored, or anxious, I'm not sure. I have plenty to do and am always doing something. When I lived with my mother I had a habit of going to the pantry and standing there just looking for something small, and grabbing something etc.

Now I only have limited stuff in my house to pick from, but every time we go to the grocery it seems that it just doesn't last long. So I go a long time without going back!

I think it has to do with boredom or anxiety. I don't go to sleep early, which may be a problem. I eat the most at night, but during the day and morning I could skip a meal and not notice.

Maybe there is just something comforting about food at those times. It makes me feel really good when I have a nice warm something at night, but then afterward I think about how eating at night brings about more weight etc. and it makes me feel worse.
