I am 5'10", in my mid 40s. I was always good healthy weight (like most kids in my generation. of a class of 20-30 students there was usually only 1 fat kid in the class.)

Well i peaked at 130 lbs in my pre teens, then had a weight jump in late teens to 170 after my growth spurt. And remember my gym teachers always saying i was borderline low in body fat % but still in the safe range. I forget the number but i was always at the lowest % number for healthy range of body fat for guys.

I stayed 170 into my adult life up to the age of 27 when i gained a bunch of weight fast 30-40 lbs in just a few months. This was about the time i became a non-smoker, I smoked from age 20-27. It is also the time i had a boost in my living lifestyle/quality of life improved and had money to spare so i could now buy things (food) i previously couldn't afford to eat.

well I was now up to 200-210 range and stable. Got more comfortable in a good healthy relationship a few years later and i gained 10-20 more lbs in my comfort and was at 230 and stayed there for around 3 to 4 years and went up 10 more lbs and hit 240 and stayed there for a few more years, then i jumped 20 more lbs over the next 3 years and stabilized, then climbed again to 275 and said that is it, and started my fat secret journey.

I will say i did several short term diets before and could lose easily the 1st week then lose motivation as 2nd week i didn't and gave up a lot. finally found weight watchers and stuck with it for a few months and lost 20+ lbs but faded away from it when money got tight again. This time money still a little tight but i am making it count this time on fat secret.

170 here i come!!!

BMR confused
website: http://www.bmi-calculator.net

BMI 31.32 BMI
BF% 25.52% body fat percentage
BMR 2074.558

but i only eat 1200 a day (sometimes cheat up to 1400)
but at 1400 i dont usually lose and sometimes gain.

if i ate 2074.558 i would gain lots of weight like 2-3 lbs a day, (which i eat about that on cheat days).

is there something wrong with me or are these calculators wrong???

Sugar
I cannot speak for other people but i can explain what it is like for me.

First late me say i dont really like the taste of sugar. Its not gross but taste wise i would much rather taste a nice chicken breast , or taste some mozzarella cheese. taste so much better to me.

But to explain the craving addiction sensation. It feels to me just like back when i was a smoker for 7 years (age 20-27) The same overwelming sensation of must have a cigarette. That addiction to nicotine. It feels exactly like that sensation (if you are or were a smoker you will under stand it.)

Also the quitting smoking side effects were very moody, (short fused, etc).

Get the same sensations when cold turkey stopping sugar. Just like cigarettes over time the cravings do go away as the body forgets it wants it.

This is why i say sugar is addictive. Dont know anybody who would argue against the fact that cigarettes are addictive. And i get the exact same sensations when i cut sugar out. This is how i decided (figured out on my own over the years) that sugar is addictive. Only later on did i look up on internet and found others had same experiences and found some studies that confirmed what i had already discovered on my own through my own life experiences. (it took me many many years to narrow down factors to figure out what was causing these sensations)

Side note i also noticed (and dont understand it) that when i eat too much sugar i start craving salt, and when i eat too much salt, i start craving sugar, almost like they counter balance each other. (but if i eat just the right amount of either sugar or salt i dont crave the other)

Sugar
Agreed! Sugar is the bane of weight and unhealthy eatting (is sooooo addictive) it feels like what i think drug withdrawals might feel like when you go cold turkey.
