I'm 32, happily married to a very fit and active fire fighter/Navy reservist, and the mother to two very wonderful, but insane teenagers. I've been overweight since I was 18, which happened to coincide with my first pregnancy, but I'm not going to blame that for my weight gain. It was simply due to my poor food choices and my excellent skill of making excuses as to why I didn't want to be active. :)
My husband is currently in active duty status on the other side of the country, so while my life has been turned up-side-down and my routine completely shattered, I figured right now is a good time to make this huge life-time commitment to change. I've made lame attempts at diet and exercise programs in the past, only to give up and give in within a few days. This time I've gone all in and bought the Biggest Loser Wii game, joined the Biggest Loser Club online, invested in a trunk load of exercise equipment, and revamped my fridge and pantry.
I started Feb 10, the day my husband shipped out, and so far, have been very successful and stuck to my new lifestyle. In the first two weeks I've lost 10lbs and dropped one pant size, from a 26 to a 24. My goal is to lose 40lbs by the time he returns at the end of May. Or, to fit in to a size 18. My reward is surprising my husband upon his return with a trip to Vegas for the honeymoon we never had! I bought my "goal outfit" last week: an adorable little black dress, size 18, to wear on our trip!
