Insulin resistance
I recommend a low carb diet too. In addition to the books already mentioned, I also recommend 'The Art & Science of Low Carb Living'. I keep my daily carb count below 50g, but still consume about 4 cups of varied vegetables per day. I just avoid the simple sugars and carbs.
