I am an ex musical theatre performer and technician now working for a international technology integration company. I went from being very very physically active to sitting at a desk about 7 years ago. My weight has slowly inched up over the last several years. I am also a mother, had my son in February of 2010. I have always had high cholesterol (hereditary), and with my pregnancy had gestational diabetes. I am in my late 40s now so I really feel the pressure to take better care of myself.
Between work and my family I have very little time to exercise. I used to be able to spend a leisurely hour and a half at the gym 6 days a week, and take dance class, and have rehearsal. When I was doing technical theatre I was climbing ladders and hanging lights and lifting heavy stuff all day, and still working out or taking dance class. I could eat anything I wanted back then and I was still lean and fit. Now I am lucky if I can squeeze in a walk at lunch or after the kiddo goes to bed. Even when I was pregnant I had a trainer until I was 24 weeks.
Anyway I am hoping that I can get back in the swing of exercising and start making better eating choices. I know what to do I just have to do it!
