any ideas
Sounds like not enough intake and kicking your body in to starvation mode. Check out the Atkins materials and give low carbing a try where you can eat calories and aim your body at burning fat. Hopefully that is something that would work for you

Coffee
Been on Atkins since April and will not give up coffee. I've lost 75 pounds now and I don't see anything that it would mess up based on what I have read. But it all depends on how your body reacts.

net and low carbs
Add the fiber count to your preferences where you log in your food journal and you can easily get net carbs, which under Atkins is the most important number. Ex: Is the 1.5 minute flax meal muffin that is a good fix for when you feel you need some sort of bread product. It has 21 carbs but 18 grams of fiber so it is only a 3 count on your net carbs. Tastes pretty good and for me makes me think I am eating some bread. Good luck and if you haven't all ready done it, go to the atkins site and read up - its a good site and the program works. I've lost 51# since Easter and now working on the second round of another 50#.

decreasing carb intake
Once again Atkins takes a hit. If you do Atkins the CORRECT way, you will lose weight and get many health benefits as well which will show in your blood test results. There is science behind Atkins, and yes Atkins when done correctly still makes you accountable for calories. If you're interested in carbs go to the Atkins website and read up and then make a decision based on how your body reacts. God didn't create a simple human body - it is complex and none of us are identical based on how we live. Educate yourself and then decide for yourself what you can do and find out if it works. For me it is Atkins and I take a multivitamin to try and make sure other nutrients, minerals are kept up. It truly is your choice.
