performance: losing 2.0 lb a week
I am a 36 year old software architect in Seattle, WA (although originally from a small farming community in rural Ontario, Canada). Been overweight for most of my life except for a short period of time when I lived in Thailand for a year and managed to unintentionally lose something like 70lbs. I have been holding steady at 29x for the last few years, but recently my weight jumped up into the 300s and I decided it was time to do something about it.
I am starting with a pretty basic low-carb diet and will add in some exercise along the way. My first goal was to reach 250lbs by December 1st (which I hit on October 27, 2001). My second goal was to hit 220lbs by February 14th, 2012 (which I hit on January 3rd, 2012). My next goal was to hit 200lbs by the end of March (which I hit on February 29th, 2012lbs). Next my goal was to continue to slowly lose another 30lbs to reach a final weight of 170lbs which I hit on May 30, 2012).
My current (and hardest) goal is to maintain this weight for the rest of my life. But I have developed some good habits along the way -- and with a bit of luck and support from my loved ones I am sure I can do it!
