Well, here I am again. I tried Atkins 5 or 6 years ago and did very well. I took off 50 lbs and maintained it until I started going back to school as I was working full-time. Bread and refined carbs started creeping back into my life and low and behold it all came back. I have been pretty comfortable until now, I have started having some issue with pain and mood. So taking off weight sounded better to me than taking pain killers and anti-depressants. I tried other programs since 1/1/08 and nothing really worked for me on a consistent basis. Then I had an epiphany... if my trigger foods are meat and cheese, why not enjoy those and get rid of all that over processed junk!
My own diet is now a modified Atkins/South Beach/Low Carb diet. I figure if I at least keep out the bad, super refined, carb junk foods out of my life, eat protein and veggies with maybe the occasional multigrain bread or potato treat, I will be able to be one with myself. Drinks are limited to tea (preferably green) and water, the occasional Diet Hansen's soda as a treat.
A little about me… I am a 28 yr old married female living in Ohio with my husband and step-son. I completed my Associates (that was the degree I was working on above) and am working in healthcare as a Cancer Registrar and love every minute of it.
