How to Lower Fat & Carbs.
Balance your meals and don't be afraid of carbs. You need them (fruits, veggies, grains, pastas, etc. are all carbs). Strive to eat healthy foods without being on a fad diet that limits this or that food.

Blood sugar spikes whenever you consume simple carbohydrates (sugar, fruits) by themselves and I suffer blood sugar crashes if I don't eat any complex carbohydrates or other foods that are slower to process with them to prevent it. And, no, I'm not diabetic nor do I have Type 2. But, that's why I don't eat certain fruits by themselves..

weightloss after menopause
Don't fret over it too much. I'm dealing with early menopausal at this point myself (I'm 52). I simply strive to eat healthy foods and stay active. And, listen to your mother. Trying to have the body you had at 25 will likely cause you more heartache than anything if it isn't meant to be there anymore. Go for how your clothes fit and not the number on the scale. I tone way faster than the scale number shows in weight loss. One thing I have also done is to pay attention to how my body feels after eating this food or that food. If it affects me adversely now, I no longer eat it. More importantly, maintain a joyful inner happiness.
