Retired from Housework 8 years ago. (When Hubby retired from being a Coal Miner.)
Healthy, don't have but 2 Rx's that I take and they are not too much mandatory.
Really want to lose 50 pounds and if it takes the rest of my life to do so, that is OK as long as I am alive and I need something to keep me and my mind occupied.

Working on getting healthy (again)
Caktus, I had to eliminate Sugar all together. I can't cut back as I have tried that and I keep eating so much more, and so many carbs. I just gave it up about 3 weeks ago and I am so much happier without it. My Hubby still eats it and I buy for him what he asks for at the store. I just don't look too hard at what I buy, I just make sure it is fresh. lol
I too find it harder to lose weight since I am older, but I have always fought my weight. I never really got to my goal weight before I would again start eating all the stuff I shouldn't have eaten to begin with.
That is why Sugar had to leave my house, at least for me. When I eat my Oats, or Cream of Wheat, I never put any sugar on them, I always put Raisins in them and just about 1/4 cup of whole milk. That is how I eat them now. They really taste good too. The real taste of Oats, is so much better than the sugar coated ones. imho
Thanks for the comment!!

Avocado Bacon Egg Salad
Lippybeth, I am learning, slowly, but learning none the less. LOL
I have only bought 2, and both were not ripe, but after reading about them, Thank God for google, I read how to pick a good one. The 2 I had, ripened in about 2 days so it wasn't long. I did the stem deal ,and when the stem came off, they were ripe.
I think even Hubby likes them, as he is asking for them on his sandwiches, or what I am fixing.
Thanks for the advice!!!

Why Do You REALLY, REALLY Want To Lose
ieGod, good one!!!
The best reason too.
If you want to have sex and can't, because of not having anyone who wants to with you, it is a big downer for sure.
No, I am not there, but I loved your comment, and thought of Hubby at that time.
Keep 'em coming.

How do I get off the Plateau I find myself stuck on ?
Rose, when you hear "muscle weighs more than fat" we are meaning that a cup of fat weighs more than a cup of lean muscle. Just look at the meat counter when you do your shopping, you will see that a lean cut of meat that weighs out to the same amount, 1#, is a smaller cut of meat. So as you are gaining muscles your body will show the loss of fat, and not on the scales but in your clothing, just as you have been noticing.
Keep on going, and do mix it up a bit, when doing exercises, for your body develops a memory and when you do them all in the same sequence it seems the body does just that, and if you mix it up, your body doesn't stop getting leaner and meaner. lol
Good Luck!!!!

Avocado Bacon Egg Salad
That sounds very delicious! I just copied it and sent it to me, via email, so I can print it off later.
I have never eaten Avocado before so this should be interesting.
I bought a couple yesterday, but they aren't ripe.
Note to myself, read how to get a ripe Avocado, before going to the store, not after. lol
Thanks for this recipe, I am a big Egg Salad fan, so this should be right up my alley.
