Yippee!!! Weighed a day early and I'm so happy to see the scale results match my diet calendar. I'm really enjoying this fatsecret site and the visual of my diet calendar with the pie chart. I can do this and I will keep logging my daily intake.

Saturday! This is usually my worst day for eating choices being at home with kids and not as structured as during the week with packing my lunch and snacks. I let myself splurge today and enjoy snacks I normally don't choose, but I felt strong about it sense I logged everything and exercised today. I didn't feel guilty like I normally would and I feel satisfied tonight. Baby steps to make these changes.

Home sick with nasty cold today. So proud of myself for not just stress or pity eating today. I just logged it all and enjoyed just a little treat compared to what I'd usually do when stuck at home.

Light bulb moment. Took time to read some topics and answers in regards to calorie deficit today at lunch. I think I get it now. I just started using Fatsecret last week and had it calculate my RDI with low activity. I thought the RDI was the minimum to eat and then I'd eat on top of that depending on exercise calories. BUT, I now realize that the RDI calculate already took into account extra calories that it estimated I'd need to cover the exercise.
Huh.
So, I just switched my RDI to be for sedentary and then I'll watch my exercise to burn additional calories. This seems to make more sense to me and how I approach counting calories. So, if I do no exercise, I can eat 1600 calories a day and still theoretically lose 1 pound per week. But if I stick to my RDI AND do exercise, I can potentially lose additional weight.
I'm going to stick with it. Slow and steady.

I feel like I should have lost more, but I'm proud of ending up with positive net calories for the week. I can definitely do better with my food choices, though, since there were a few days where I ate my calories in sweets instead of whole foods. Will keep working hard.
