Joined here several years ago, but really didn't take diet and exercise seriously. I had started walking again in the Spring of 2014, and when I went to my Doctor for my regular check-up on July 16th, 2014, I noticed I'd lost a few pounds without really trying. Still, I weighed 249 lbs, which I thought was absurd for someone who'd always been athletic. So, on that date, I started my own diet and exercise routine. I've gone from 249 lbs on July 16th to 215 lbs on October 6th. I eat fewer than 1500 calories most days and I walk or run at least 5 miles, 5 times a week. Both eating and exercise have become pretty much habit. When I break 195 lbs, I 'll weigh about what I did in H.S. 35+ years ago when I played varsity basketball and varsity tennis. While I'm saving my "old" clothes for "just in case," I'm having to buy new clothes all the time. Here's hoping I can maintain the initiative.
