Joined here several years ago, but really didn't take diet and exercise seriously. I had started walking again in the Spring of 2014, and when I went to my Doctor for my regular check-up on July 16th, 2014, I noticed I'd lost a few pounds without really trying. Still, I weighed 249 lbs, which I thought was absurd for someone who'd always been athletic. So, on that date, I started my own diet and exercise routine. I've gone from 249 lbs on July 16th to 199 lbs on November 20, which is a loss of about 2.7 lbs/week. I eat between 1500 calories and 1900 calories most days and I walk or run at least 4miles, 3-4 times a week (less now that it's winter). I've run a 5-mile race and two 5Ks since September. Both eating and exercise have become pretty much habit. I am starting cross training to build up muscle. While I'm saving some of my "old" clothes for "just in case," I'm having to buy new clothes all the time. Here's hoping I can maintain the initiative AND not lose much more.

Road race
Thank you! Several years ago I was addicted to running. Time passed, stuff happens, etc. But with my first race in some time Saturday, there was this kind of fellowship, a kind of fraternity, that for most, it didn't matter about your time. What mattered was that you were there; that you were one of "them", a runner. So, after this 5-miler, next up a 5-k next month. Stoked. Weight keeps going down and energy keeps going up. Road race
Ran in a 5-mile race for charity Saturday, September 20, 2014.

Gonna enter more races this Fall. Only been training for this since mid-Summer, hence part of the reason for losing weight. Anticipate losing more as kcal's keep being reduced and exercise levels continue

Weight loss measurement
I did NOT go from 230 lbs to 225 lbs from August 31st to September 1st. Not sure why that was calculated that way. I hadn't even weighed since August 23rd (230 lbs.) and then today, September 1st (225 lbs.) I'm starting today to weigh where I record every Monday. I don't know how to change that I didn't lose 5 lbs in a day.

Does anyone know if you add a subway sandwich (yea I cheated today) to your list of food, do you have to individually list the bread, toppings and any condiments separately? My guess is you do. Just checking. Makes a big difference. JimboG
