How to deal with critics
Work is a weird environment to begin with - you spend the majority of the day thrown together with all kinds of characters you wouldn't necessarily choose to even associate with, let alone be friends with. It creates a kind of false intimacy that leads to overly familiar and invasive comments supposedly made for the "good" of the person on the receiving end. Like you really give a crap what they think about you!

When some yahoo at work comments on your weight or appearance, just give them a real slow head to toe once-over with a nice long "hhhmmmmmmmmmmmm". And then walk away. They'll spend the rest of the day in the ladies room trying to figure out what the hell it was that you saw, but were too polite to comment on.

Not So Fast Food
Thanks Millimarie! Writing humor books would be far preferable to my current job, but no, I'm not a writer at all.

Not So Fast Food
I'm with k8yk - the salt and grease (and guilt!) cancel out any gratification eating fast food used to give. I think everyone craves it to some extent....until they stop eating it. When that first burger after a long absence literally makes you sick, you realize you don't miss it at all. And I swear I can feel fries travel directly from my mouth to my thighs, with little or no travel time. Seriously, it's like the Acela train from Boston to NYC; lighting speed with no stops, no delays.

Can't find BlackBerry App.
It's also in the 'most popular apps' section of app world - but if you have a blackberry that's more than a year old you may not have a recent enough operating system to see/download it. Try Crackberry.com; sometimes you can download OS upgrades there.

(Jorge Cruise) HOW TO LOOSE BELLY FAT?
A woman I work with is on it -- she's losing, but pretty slowly. Cruise is big on sugar being the evil entity responsible for female belly fat, so the premise is restricting yourself to a total of 15 grams of sugar and 6 servings of carbs per day. He also advocates cutting out most of the other junk (high fat, high sodium, overly processed foods) so I think anyone would naturally lose weight on his plan.

The weight I've lost has all come off my belly area, just because that's where the fat was, so I've gotten the same results w/out the strict counting of sugar grams or carbs. But his book is very user friendly, so if it motivates someone to get healthy I'm all for it!
