I've tried many different diets and all have failed (so far). the end result was progressively getting heavier and heavier.
Now, I'm at a point where I'm have a hard time sleeping or just keeping up with others.
Luckily, i have switched careers and have moved into a trade- with it being very physical i do tend to get more exercise in a day than a desk job.

Time to change old ways and attitudes- and get my butt in gear.

I agree with bluemoon- get the book and read it. for counting calories, carbs and such i use www.fitday.com to help me count the carbs.Smile

Atkins buddies with 100+ lbs to lose?
I found the first 4-5 days rough for me- i was trying to kick caffeine,sugar and carbsShock . After those first few days i did feel much better. I had more energy, and seemed to sleep better. As the days/weeks are going by, i find Atkins easier and easier to follow. I do find Atkins grocery list to be a little more expensive than what i used to buy ( rice, pasta, etc. But, i do believe it is worth it in the long run. I rather spend the $ on quality food now, than on medication (-for high blood pressure or whatever other ailments caused by being overweight)Smile

stomach problems, heart palpatations and pain response
I was reading that blog/ link that you attached- this person used 3 teaspoons of splenda for their coffee, which is excessive. No wonder they were having problems.
(one gram of splenda= 2 teaspoons of sugar)

On the other hand, it is true that they do not have any long term studied on this product. So who knows.........

Drink a ton of water- and eliminate splenda from you diet and see if there is any change.
