I'm a wife of a wonderful husband & mother to three children. I'm in a health profession, ironically, which makes my journey even more frustrating. I want to lose 40lbs, but more than just weight loss, I want to be healthy again. I want to go to the beach with my family & enjoy simple things in life without the constant thought of how overweight I am. My weight has fluctuated since childhood. But I was healthiest & happiest when I was on a good path of regular jogging. Now that I'm older it's harder to find consistency. I started with this site last year in hopes it would help keep me accountable. I found I stopped recording even though I lost 15lbs before I went back up. Something about that mark... Anyway, I've gained it all back plus 4 more. Back to the beginning, back to a New Year & a fresh start!

Looks like we're all in the same boat! Glad to have found this forum so we can keep each other motivated! My family has a habit of reaching for my favorite guilty pleasures when I'm trying to eat healthy! Not sure what that's about.... But this time I'm reverting back to a tip that helped me years ago. Has to do with sabotagers. Some people really don't want us to succeed & sometimes they don't even consciously know it but on a subconscious level they'll thwart our efforts. Others do it consciously for whatever reasons they may have. This information helped me recognize the sabotagers in my life & now when they tempt me I say to myself (in my brain only) "Sabotager" & then resist. Seems to work like a charm since I know my skinny self will show 'em all!
