Low carb diet-Confused
From what I see you only have one day of eating above 1200 calories, which most would recommend is the minimum of amount of calories a woman should consume daily. Atkins tends to make you feel full soon because of the fat content. I agree, add some fats to your diet to up calorie intake. I'm back on Atkins trying to lose my last 10 lbs or so of baby weight, but the first time I did Atkins I lost 10 lbs the first week. I always seemed to eat above, or right at the recommended calories though for my body weight at the time.

First day thoughts
It's definitely possible. I gained a lot of weight with each of my pregnancies. My youngest is 9 months and in the past 7 months I've lost almost 50 lbs through diet and exercise.

Insanity
I am doing insanity again and I am in my second week. The first time I did it I was about 30 lbs heavier than I am now and was only about 8 weeks post partum from having my third child so it kicked my butt. I stopped after 2 full weeks due to having abdominal surgery. Before I started the insanity program this time I started with the 30 day shred and did that for 3 weeks to get back in shape since I had previous success on that program after my second child. I will say insanity is a whole lot harder than the 30 day shred but my results were good with that program. The first time I did insanity I ended up gaining some weight in the beginning but I believe that to be due to not calculating my calories correctly and my muscles were retaining water since they hadn't been used in so long. I have already lost over 4 lbs in the two weeks since I started this time but I still do not follow the nutrition plan, which for some is a must apparently. Some days i eat less than my allotted calories, other days i eat more, but it all balances out by the end of the week. I also started this second time with my bmi in the normal range so maybe that has helped. With insanity I have seen faster changes in my body than with the 30 day shred already so I am more motivated to complete the program. The problem I have with both programs is there is not enough stretching so I always try to stretch more after I complete the videos. Also, insanity is a lot of jumping, which is hard on my knees at time since I still have injuries from my days in the military. I can keep up with the people on the DVDs, but even I take a short break if I need it. I would recommend going at your own pace if you do decide to purchase the DVDs for your daughter since there is a less likely chance for injury. Good luck to her in whatever workout program she chooses.
