I have a 2-3 hour a day commute on top of long days in the office, which affords little time to workout.
I started out at 208# in November of 2009, dropping to the mid 190's by the time I joined FatSecret in March of 2010. The ease of calorie counting (both in and out) with FatSecret and the Calorie Counter Android application was absolutely KEY in getting beyond my goal weight of 170 down to 164 by August. (See before and after pics).
Unfortunately, some dramatic life changes around November of 2010 left me off the elliptical, out of the gym, and eating crap. 2011 saw the gradual de-evolution back into the mid to upper 190's. As 199.5# crossed the scale, I decided it was not acceptable and tried to restart the success I had in 2010, but it has not worked out.
Have had multiple restarts and failures, but am back at it again. With the latest attempt starting at the end of Dec 2014. Gotta do it this time.
