Shazzyb... YOU GOT IT! "I will just make sure I end up on a negative net calorie amount every day" is EXACTLY what I was trying to explain. If you consume less calories than you burn, you are bound to lose! Best of luck Smile

Track your RDI vs. calories burned (exercise history). You'll be amazed at how many calories your burn "resting" and "sleeping". When you add in exercises you've done it increases the burned calorie count per day. Then you can maximize your intake vs. burn. Don't "bank" alcohol calories, count them and you'll stay on track for losing. Eat a lighter meal earlier in the day to account for the calories you'll consume from that cocktail.

Bglrn is right. Get a baseline. Record your daily intake for 2 weeks, then look at the big picture. The following webpage can help you figure out what parameters to follow for daily intake of fat/carbs/proteins for your age/height/weight/sex: Then make sure the amount of food you eat falls at or BELOW the daily intake (calories & nutrients) recommended. Burn more calories than your body consumes daily and you'll start seeing results. Oh, and drink water instead of soda, juice, etc.
