Eating Fruit
I have added fruit to my diet. Ground cherries, strawberries, gooseberries. Just a few like 5 or 6 of each. Weight is falling, jeans also are falling. It's
about ding dang time this happened after being in menopause for what seems to me to be 20 years!

Diabetic Help!
Hi GrandmaC, well, I have hypoglycemia which is a forerunner of diabetes, or so I was told. I used to get so weak I could barely walk and the only thing that would quick fix me was a high sugar carb loaded thing to eat. Like cereal that I'd dump sugar on and wolf it down in a matter of seconds. Or if I needed an even quicker fix I'd take plain old sugar! It would take care of me but only for 20-30 min.! And on and on like that....Dr. put me on a diet but it didn't work. So, luckily I stumbled across an Atkins book. I immediately went on induction and wow, it was amazing! After a month or so and going to the Dr. he told me that whatever I was doing I should keep doing! That was in 1994 and I stayed faithfully on it until 2002 when menopause struck me like lightning! That's another story but anyhow, I am now back on Atkins and loving it but can't seem to lose weight this time around. To answer your question, yes, by eating the Atkins way, your husband should greatly benefit and some people have actually weaned themselves off of part or all of their insulin. I hope this helps somewhat.
