How much protein are you eating?

Hi, my experience is if your working out you need to feed your body because it has nothing to pull from before and after. You'll need carbs for energy before you work out..say an hour or so before and after your work out have a protein drink handy, for best results you have a 30min window to drink it.This will help repair torn tissue and replace your proteins etc.you used up thus creating energy.Habits like this were taught to me by Trainer's& Dietitians who live by and do this for a living.Hope this helps you out .

Oh I'm sorry man I should of read some of your posting's.I read work out and you were talking""iron" .Your taking walks.well you'll have to be satisfied with protein unless someone can add to that.but the info.I gave you is good if you ever decide actually work out iron, aerobics etc.something demanding.

Check iron as well. Protein should be at least 50g/day if you aren’t fasting but no more than 30g/meal can really be absorbed by the body.

The protein advice is great! When feeling hungry, I have found I can make 2 servings of any flavor sugar free pudding, with a cup of skim milk, and a dash of protein powder, I use peanut butter flavored, and also a scoop of Metamucil, fiber, very low caloric, very filling...you can also replace the skim milk, with say a premier protein drink, to add more protein.

I usually make the whole box, and mix it in a shaker, and eat half, and save half for later!

Cardio definitely makes me tired and hungry. I stick with strength. If I do too much cardio I end up eating more extra calories than the exercise burns off. Strength training builds muscle, makes me much leaner and improves my metabolic rate. A quick sprint on the treadmill, 30-40 mins of strength and another quick sprint on the treadmill is the most effective workout for me.

Working out makes you tired and hungry? My advice: keep up the good work and don't eat. That's what a workout should be doing to you if you do it right. As for your being hungry, it may mean that you are in a mild caloric deficit, which is exactly where you want to be. Good job!

I'm actually seeing a nutritionist right now from the weight loss clinic and she's been excellent. I've been working out up to 3 hours per day... now way I could have sustained that without her help. Her rules are pretty basic. #1 Protein first. #2 75 grams of protein per day. #3 Protein should be at least 50% of your total dietary intake (leaving 25% carbs and 25% fat). #4 No Starch no added sugar. #5 The only grains you eat are whole grains. #6 NO SNACKING... only eat at meal time. #7 Drink Water.... 64 oz a day. Not juice... not milk... not soda or any other carbonated drink... just drink water. Since I've been following her rules my fatigue has completely vanished. I work out hard... I feel great... and I sleep like a baby. Oh... and I'm losing 3 to 5lbs a week like clockwork.
