Penlan's Journal, 04 September 2017

So here we go.

Last August I was so near my goal weight of 66kg, with just half a kilo to go.
This August I am back to where I was two years ago. Nearly.

Why?

Well, this has been the year from hell and something had to give in my bid to survive. It is not over yet, and I don't want to make excuses, but truly it could have been so much worse on the weight front.

I have had the decree nisi last week so the legal process of cutting free from my abusive ex is well on the way, and hopefully I can start to get my life back.

It starts with logging my food again and focusing on losing weight for ME.

Oh yes, this is such a hackneyed and much repeated story, but hey, that's life. I will get through it and I will get to where I want to be.

Time to 'fess up - and admit the line has gone way off mark.

Easy to lose focus when your life is in turmoil, but no harm done. Start when you are ready, you're a stronger person now. You can do it!

Thanks all. I know we all rely on each other for support, moral and practical. The daily record starts, which is the biggest hurdle to jump. Let's hope it is downhill from here :)

I've had similar issues in the past when I lost my parents. When you've been to work all day and then you sit next to the bed of your dying parent staying on target with the food is really hard, and seems so insignificant at the time given your bigger picture. The only thing to do is let things slide for a while to get you well being back and then get back on track just as you have done. We're all behind you on this.

I've misseed you, Penlan, but I know you've had a tough time and had to look after yourself, not tell jokes and goof around on a weighloss site. Two years ago weight isn't so bad - when your determination can be focussed on losing again, I'm sure you'll do it! Take care 🤗

Sorry to hear of your woes, but welcome back. There are plenty of us who know exactly what it's like to go through a divorce - especially when the other side is a pathetic little p'*'k who plays games. Almost there Penlan and then the hard work begins . . . :D
