coltu45u's Journal, 26 February 2017

I reckon that the way to get past this plateau is to go through it. This week I doubled down and set the dial to 1.5 lb. to lose per week towards a new goal of 150 lb. which I ought to reach on May 7th.My average caloric intake was 1189 kcal. I still only managed a 0.6 loss.
My weight training has been providing good results at this point. My muscles are more dense and moving about in day-to-day activity is easier. My 'man boobs' are disappearing too. I've got nothing against boobs, but not on me, please.
This is a hard change from the consistent 1 lb drops I was getting before, but the arrow is pointing in the right direction, I feel great, and I know that pretty soon I will see some more encouraging numbers on the scale.
165.0 lb Lost so far: 5.0 lb.    Still to go: 15.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

.6 pounds is awesome. If you so it again next week it's double awesome. The less you have to lose, the slower it goes. And you're building muscle and losing fat!

Typically, when you lose weight too quickly combined with strength training you are defeating your bodies fuel needs. Muscle needs fuel to maintain and repair itself. You may want to consider not sacrificing muscle loss to reach a weight goal. 1189 calories isn't enough fuel for your age, gender, etc. Take solace in the fact you'll continue to lose weight and maybe consider adding calories to give your body what it needs in nutrition. Your weight loss ought to slow and you may have weeks of no loss. Be patient. Allow your new habits to provide consistency and you'll have a better likelihood of success. Best of luck.
