Measured my weight mid-week but didn't record it. Sure enough, the scale said I'd gained two pounds. Yes. Two. Pounds. Where the heck does two pounds come from. Today it shows no change from last Sunday but since that last scare I'm grateful to break even.
It looks like I've reached the dreaded Plateau at this, the three-month mark in my journey. I hadn't been paying much mind to it in the past but now it looks like I need to do some research and see how to get past it.
Maybe a croissant will reassure my body that there's no famine happening.?.

When do you weigh youself? In the mornings? Do you keep the time and place you weigh yourself consistent. i.e. scale in the same spot, same time of day, same amount of clothes on or off. All factors to consider as they matter. Our bodies naturally fluctuate 5 lbs up or down from whatever weight we are generally consistent at being with. So that is where that number of 2 lbs comes from. As well if you weigh yourself first thing in the morning before you eat or drink, you will weigh less because you do not have as much water weight. When you are up and active during the day, factors include water weight, since we are mainly water, and bloating, what you've eaten, etc. Don't go nuts over 2 lbs. If you weigh yourself once a week that is fine. Also, the scale is not everything. A lot of being healthy is how you feel, not what a scale tells you. How many inches are you losing on your waist/other parts, do you look and feel more tone. The scale is only one small part of things but is by no means the end all be all of fitness. Switch up one workout a week with something you havent done before. It'll get your body into something different and it'll have to adjust.

Thanks for commenting, Jamesmr. Usually take my weight reading Sunday morning only, first thing (about 8:30 am), and wear the same thing. I hadn't taken those factors that you mention into account, as I took my mid-week reading in the evening. I believe electronic scales are only accurate to within, I guess about 0.8 lb too. I like your attitude on the process and I do share your view. In the past six months I have quit smoking, I don't drink nearly as much, have lost 22 pounds, and I am lifting weights at the gym, my blood pressure is down and I've thrown out my statins and Tylenol. I never believed I could be one this path, but now that I'm there, there's no going back for me. My future is looking better and better. I hope yours is too.
