kingkeld's Journal, 31 January 2012

So, it's another day at a higher weight. Today I weigh in at 80 kgs. I think I know why, and it's not too worrisome.

The last days we've eaten heavy foods. (Healthy) Chicken dumplings (mostly without the dumplings) and yesterday we had whole wheat pasta with meat loaf. It's all okay on the calories, though I did go too high yesterday. I was craving foods, chocolate, all kinds of stuff, and I decided to give in. Of course, immediately after I regretted it - as always.

I've had some stomach trouble, being constipated these last few days too. I'm sure that affects the weigh-ins too.

However, I did good still, I went to exercise, I burned an extra 750 calories there according to the treadmill computer (which counts in my weight, so I guess it should be reasonably accurate).

This morning, Wife got up early to be with me. It's nice that we have a few hours together before I go to work. I like that.

So, this will be a shorter journal, as I really want to spend time with her. Her back is better, by the way. I'd like to say thanks for all you guys' concern for her. I - and she - really appreciate it. She's getting to be more focused on how to stand, lift, bend and all the other things that affect our back.

Here's a little video for her:

Today I am thankful for
- getting a couple of hours with Wife before work
- morning coffee!
- going to rock out with the kids tonight!

Hopefully, tomorrow will be a good weigh-in. Life is good!

Glad wife's backs better.... Re weight / constipation - I am sure that is why you are heavier.... Have you tried eating some prunes? - a natural laxative and tasty too. Sometimes I stuff pork or chicken with them, beneficial and tasty. I have the dried sort, so they are always available, to pick up a couple when needed.

SkInny - I'm going shopping for various natural laxatives today. Prunes is definitely one of them. I got some inspiration from a friend on a couple desserts that can be made super low cal, with prunes and pure cocoa powder. Tastes like chocolate, helps digestion AND is low cal. Sounds like a winner. If it's any good, I'll share the recipe. :)

Spinach juice works great too, if you can juice it or get it fresh. Have a great day, Keld.

You are so awesome! Love your attitude despite the gain! And definitely the bathroom issues could be the culprit! Glad your wife is doing much better and has you to keep her motivated and positive! You have a beautiful day!

I have to add Magnesium supplements. Someone on Atkins suggested that for constipation once, and IT WORKS!

There's also psyllium husks, similar I suppose to stuff like Metamucil? Recommended by my doc when I was prego because it's gentle and natural. You should be able to find at any drug store/chemist.
