My little excursions below the blue line appear to be brief at best!! This is WHY I do not set a "new" goal ... for now. I am solidly in my range and so of course there are no actual worries. I exercised a lot yesterday, also a fair amount of housework type activity so eventually it will pay off ... just not this morning!!

The snow is really here now. It is the light fluffy type ... not the wet slushy stuff!!! I do have a little driving ahead of me today so I hope the highways are clear. I imagine they will be. I finally put up my little Christmas tree last night. Usually I am so "into" decorating for Christmas and this year I have not been. I hung the stockings and put out a couple of knicky knacky type stuff but I think the majority of it will remain boxed this year. I did listen to some Christmas music ... much to hubby's dismay. He really doesn't enjoy the holiday music as much as I do!!

Okay ... time for the five ...

1. successful Date Nut Bread bake-a-thon yesterday
2. decreased intensity in hot flashes last night
3. I am able to do more of the Pilates DVD than I could when I started
4. my son telling me I do not look my age!!
5. life

How awesome. That's awesome when kids not only recognize but comment on this. Isn't it great with the exercise as we notice we can do more and more? Such an accomplishment. Good for you! Have a great day!

Date Nut bread--Yum! That sounds delicious. I have dates on my oatmeal nearly every morning and they are so good. And I agree with your son--you don't look your age! I hope your driving goes well today.

(~: Thanks Erika!!! I don't "feel" my age either ... whatever 51 is supposed to feel like!!

Sorry your not in the holiday spirit... I always feel that way at first, to lazy to put everything out, but when I find all the boxes, and see all my decorations that I'd forgotten about over the year, I really LOVE doing it. Taking it down, on the other hand (which we have to do ON Christmas this year!!), is not my favorite part! Have a great Monday buddy, and please be careful driving in that horrible snow!!! ( ;

What a great compliment from your son. I'm envious of your snow. I also am not in the holiday spirit whatsoever. I kept thinking I had all this time and now all of a sudden I have barely a week to pull it together. I've been listening to Christmas music but I'm not feeling it. Maybe a little baking will help. As long as I don't eat all the cookie dough.

Whoa! you were under the blue!! I missed it? lol Its alright, correct it now, you got this... and if you don't you are still in your range. Fantastic! oh, I am a huge Christmas song fanatic. I'd listen to it year round if hub would let me. Its in the car now and kids and I sing as loud as we can! 2 yr old is picking them up real well! lol Dates, yum. Date bread, yum. I lost my date connection, I need dates! Do you order them or buy them local? What a compliment from your son, he better score big for Christmas on that, I am sure he was being honest though. Great to hear about the pilates! Good job!

My two stations are running Christmas music 24 hours a day - I admit, some songs are too much for me! We are thinking about a tree - I drove past some for sale, but maybe my girls and I can wander into the woods to find one!

I have resorted to a small pretend tree!! Jessy - I am working on doing Pilates every other day ... some moves are incredibly tough!! I had a book too but find the DVD is easier for me to follow. Maybe once I get the hang of it I can pull out my book again!! Cindy - I just cheat and buy the chopped dates from the market. Less work for me!! I do have some very good dates in the freezer ... I should chop those up ... they would make excellent bread!!!

I'm not ready for the Christmas songs yet - we're singing the Hannukah songs for a few more days. THEN I'll do the Christmas ones! I like celebrating a little of both and not a lot of either. I forgot I had dates in the cupboard - I think I'll put them in my oatmeal tomorrow! Thanks for the idea! Your little Christmas tree sounds adorable, and just right! Enjoy! Don't worry about the peek above the blue line - you're just checking in on those of us hovering way above. :)

Christmas music is my favorite part of the holiday...at least one new CD is the early gift I give myself every year...I've acquired quite a collection even after upgrading from albums to cassette tapes to CDs over the years. I think I have about everything except for Alvin and the Chipmunks...Never cared for squeeky singing animals, although I do think there's something very sweet about Miss Piggy and the Muppets singing with John Denver.

I think it is hard to be in the holiday spirit for many folks. We feel guilty for not feeling a certain way and it is so important to embrace the way we are feeling and not deny it. Bravo to you for doing so!

Moose, I just downloaded an Elvis Christmas album. (Not the duets one with contemporary singers.) It's suiting me really well--Christmassy but also a touch of melancholy. :) In a good way. Doit--I LOVE the muppet Christmas album! Especially Christmas is Coming with Miss Piggy singing. The drums are awesome. Kind of a rocking song.

beets-One might expect a singing pig to be humorous...but that a frog can bring tears to the eyes?? --Who would know that? The recordings are whimsical, kind, gentle, genuine, wise, meditative and yes, fun...expressing everything that this season- the season of life- is or should be about...with lyrics that positively feed the soul. I'm working at home this morning, there's a fire in the fireplace behind me and I am now going to put on that CD for the first time this season; but it won't be the last ---I listen to this one in June, July, or anytime I want to restore some PEACE back into my heart.

What kind of pilates DVD do you complete? The one I have is called "10 Minute Solutions." Each segment is - of course - just 10 minutes long. The various segments are for upper body, abs, lower body, total body, and balance. I mix up combinations but never do more than two segments in one work out session. Just wondering! Enjoy the snow!
