Ok, now I am really discourage. Three weeks now and the scale hasn't moved. I am eating right, getting in my exercise. Really makes me want to cry. :( I am staying around 1200 calories and get a hard workout for an hour everyday on my treadmill at between 3.4 and 3.5mph. I am tracking calories and keeping up with food on fitbit, ww and my fitness pay and it is showing I should be losing. Oh my. I know I can't give up. I really was expecting to see some loss this morning. It has NEVER been this hard to lose.
169.0 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 17.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
steady weight

Susan it will come. I know this is hard. I know you are thinking this isn't fair right right now, but it will come. Hang in there. Dig your heels in, tie yourself off, & don't let it break you. We are on this climb with you. Those above you will pull, & us below will push. You will get through this stall. It is critical that you know that. Be tenacious. Don't let the scale be the judge of your progress. Have faith that you have a plan & you are working your plan. The science is solid, if you do the work & the work consumes more calories than you ingest; the weight will come off. I promise you it will. Be strong. Stay on your path through this darkness. Let this community light your way. And when the sun does come up, the pounds will have melted away in it's warmth. We need you on the peak Susan. I need you on the peak. Someday, when I am stalled on this mountain, I will need Susan to reach through my darkness. And when I hear Susan's voice calling down from above, I will know that is a voice of wisdom. That is a voice of experience. Because Susan fought this stall; Susan fought this mountain; & Susan blazed a trail to the peak for me to follow.

It will happen. It's your body playing stubborn with you. LOL. You know how you don't want to give up something you're used to and comfortable with? Your body is the same. The only thing I would ask though is, have you had your thyroid checked? I couldn't lose anything when I was trying to. I had drastically cut calories and increased exercise. I went to my Doctor because I have a severe thyroid problem (hasn't stayed under control for 13 years after my thyroid surgery). She tested me and it was way off. She increased my medicine, it took a while for my body to notice (I still don't have as much energy as I think I should have) and the thyroid numbers (test) seem to be under control. I'm losing now, but very slow compared to the previous time.

Thank you so very much for your words of encouragement. They really touched my heart. Yes, I can do this. It's great to know that you are there when I need a push and I will be here for you! :) Thanks again! :)

Susan, I had three weeks just like you. I was so downhearted. I kept on, the same as you, and finally showed a loss. We all plateau for various reasons, stay strong, you will get through it.

Increasing my lean protein intake worked for me. I eat more 0% plain nonfat yogurt (fage or chobani) and 1% friendship plain cottage cheese with some raspberries as they are high in protein and keep me satiated. Check your macro nutrient levels for daily protein intake and try to keep the fat/sugar levels on the lower side. You can track them in the food diary. Keep in mind that weight lost slower (over a period of months) is healthier than rapid loss and will be easier to maintain. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info on lean protein. I love fage yogurt but have alway gotten the 0% nonfat with fruit. Will try the plain this week. I also have fat free cottage cheese everyday with strawberries. I will keep an eye on my protein and I am going to start back on strength training. Time to dust off the bow flex. Bethlauren8, its makes me feel better to know that other people are going through the same thing. Glad you broke your plateau! Thanks you guys for all the words of encouragement. :)

Try adding an apple every day if you aren't already and lots of green tea... 2 great things for weight loss....that is my plan because I felt the same way today!!

you have to cheat your body for one day. eat a pizza slice or a burger, or pasta... you will loose weight the next day.

1200 calories isn't enough. You are putting your body into starvation mode, where any food you eat is being put into fat, instead of being used up. Increase your caloric intake, and get some protein. One of my favorite meals is Rice-A-Roni with grilled chicken breast. Also, don't be afraid of "fat". Many healthy snacks, like seeds and nuts, have fats in them, but they are the good kinds, that can help hold down your bad cholestoral.
