It's coming off the hard way, but at least it's coming off. Probably should have been more, but I've been eating too much salt. I got some nu-salt, but I keep forgetting I got it.

IMPORTANT DIET TIP:
DON'T eat 5 pinto bean tacos. You're welcome.

You don't understand. I was raised on tacos. My dad's family is from Texas, and I haven't had a decent taco in a year, ever since I became a vegetarian. I try not to eat too much fake meat. I had some left over pinto beans that I just started adding things to, first it morphed into a soup, but I didn't want soup, so I added rice, but I didn't feel like beans and rice. I added soy sauce, slapped those puppies in a taco shell, added cucumber, cheese, and hot sauce. Oh my gosh I was a twelve year old girl looking at a picture of a teddy bear holding a unicorn with rainbows coming out of it's horn. IT WAS SO GOOD! I need to write down everything I dumped in there. Best part was I did it all in the crock pot. THE PROBLEM was I had 5. 5! This was Thursday, then Friday for lunch I had leftovers. Then Saturday, I had... "I'm ready for my colonoscopy Mr DeMille".

I stopped eating sugar. I just didn't tell myself. I figured if I told myself I would crave sugar, so I didn't tell myself. It's been since Thursday I think. I'm actually doing better than I thought. I just have to make sure I don't find out I gave it up. This is where my post for sugar rehab came from.

The problem with giving up sugar is, whether I like it or not, I'm going through withdrawal. I have been tired! and moody! and grumpy! and tired! and unmotivated! and today I was really depressed. I was at work and something make me think of an incident I had with a teacher in middle school and I almost started crying. WHAT??? I can only chalk it up to sugar withdrawal. That or I'm losing my mind. Could be either I suppose.

Lol! Love it! I think it is sugar withdrawal. Long ago in the time of new years resolutions I tried the Atkins diet. My breaking point was McDonald's and their Monopoly game. We played but I gave the fries to my son and I had the diet coke. Well one day at my "lowest" I licked a fry before I handed them to my son. Yes I licked it! I felt so guilty that I threw the fry (uneaten) out of the car window. I realized then that the Atkins diet was not for me. Not to mention the shakes and headaches I was getting from eating no sugar. I have never been a huge sugar eater anyways and if I felt that bad that quick...... so anyways over the years I have done more research than dieting but I feel like now I have the right "education" to do this the right way. I have quit soda for 4+ years now and I have quite smoking and drinking. I count calories and instead of taking anything out or depriving myself of anything I add stuff. Add veggies, add salsa to those wonderful tacos and you will have to put in less beans and rice. I most of all I listen to my body! You don't want to throw in the towel on something that is working because of a bad day. It takes 21 days to make something a habit. We are in a marathon not a sprint! So keep up the good work!

In my opinion, when the beans get through with you, your consumption won't add up to 5 tacos :) Thanks for the laugh! Nice drop! Don't worry, the tacos probably quelled your desire for them for a little while. Other than the soy sauce (sodium, they sound like healthy tacos, especially if you used brown rice.

I would of been at the crock pot with you. Minus cucumbers they well will start going before the beans. Yes do write the recipe done.

You can survive the sugar withdrawal. Are you still eating fruit? If so have an apple or some berries. I eat beans of some sort most days. Last night's dinner was a Cajun potatoes, cabbage, and red bean patty, recipe from Paul Pruhomme's Louisiana Kitchen. Yum! They are traditionally made with meat but used beans instead. I have to put the recipe in my cookbook so I can figure the calories. It made 15 so most will go in the freezer today.

Sugar withdrawal..or menopause - LOL

eek! HCB you said the M word! I'm not that old (sadly I might be). I'm doing the sugar fast to try and flush some excess candida out of my body. I've had some incidental (is that the right word?) sugar but no refined sugars.

Are you experiencing withdrawals from taking out the sugar?

I think so yes, but I'm trying to do it slowly so that they aren't extreme.

Anytime, Instantcrazy... Starsage, I can't do the low carb, all that meat doesn't like my body and I have a constant stomach ache. I've done Atkins 3 times and couldn't stick with it. Spent about 6 months rethinking and devising my own plan based on the way I cook (eclectic and always experimenting), lots of plant based foods, not much meat, very little processed.
