Day 68 (Week 10): 10 TO 30 POUNDS BY November OR BUST

Week 4 Cruise to Lose!

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

Smoothest of sailing to all of you wonderful, health-minded, lovely FS peoples!!!!!!!!!!

Well I did not do so well on the food front yesterday. I went to a pot luck and well buffet style things are my absolute biggest weakness! I tried to fill up on salad and fruit and filled up MOSTLY on those things. I also did take small portions of all the delectables, too, though. My plan is not to feel deprived soooo yeah, it added up to a lot!! Of course I may be over estimating, it's just hard to tell with buffet style things. I did get a TON of water down to help with that water weight but the amount of salt I ate last night might have counteracted that. So it's a fast for me today to make up for my excesses. Lotsa tea and water. I have an extra lemon form the hummus last night, too so I think I will try the lemon water trick :)

1:00PM Edit to add: Well, I broke my fast a little before dinner. It's not a resolve thing so much as the fact that I never cycled out of the hunger like usual. So Iam making the choice to eat a GoLean bar to hold me until a regular dinner.

Did well on the exercise front. Got home after nine but still got 42 minutes of exercise in! Yay :) Mostly aerobic to burn those calories, yeah man! :) So even with overindulging again I burned more than I ate but I REALLY need to get back on track and get back to my normal limits. Today I am going to eat under 1k calories. Tomorrow between 1200 and 1500 and then Thursday back to my normal 1500 - 1800 (but trying to stay on the low end of that too.)

Old Man Scale: He is still not speaking to me this morning but I cannot say that I blame him :)(250 *sigh*)

Happy, healthy vibes to you all!!

Sounds like you have a good plan to offset the buffet. Old Man Scale will be nice soon, I'm sure. Especially with all the exercise you're getting in! Can't keep a good BWW down! Or her weight UP!

When I feel like I have gone crazy, I'm tempted to fast also to try to balance things out. I've just found that it is a losing proposition, though. I am much better behaved if I balance a bad day with a "well-behaved" day of about 1200 calories from low GI/GL sources. If I stay low GI, I can prevent the big insulin/glucagon surges that undermine my resolve.

I usually don't have much issue with it as long as I don't do more than say dinner to dinner and drink a lot of water and hot tea.

It also shrinks my stomach capacity so less satisfies me when I am done and I sorta feel "flushed out"

That sensation one has when her stomach is semi-empty and she drinks hot tea -- then cold water -- then hot tea -- then cold water -- FEELS GOOD. One can feel the variations in temperature as the liquid goes down. Strange? Maybe. I really relate to the "flushing" comparison.

Great job on the exercise. I'm hoping the lemon water STARTS working. How long does it take?
