SergeantS's Journal, 11 January 2013

Oh poo. Still the same, don't know why, but haven't shifted 1oz let alone 1lb since January 8th. Today is January 11th and my 'official weigh-in day' is tomorrow. Nooooooo. Just can't believe how much I'm restricting my diet and I'm not losing very quickly at all...I'm used to eating primarily carbs and dropping to nearly zero is doing, well, nothing much? Going to keep going, something has got to give, surely. There is no way I can change my diet this drastically and not lose, no way on earth! Keep calm and carry on.
165.6 lb Lost so far: 4.2 lb.    Still to go: 30.6 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

That's right keep calm.....my loss really slowed down this week. Actually yesterday I was the same as I was 6 days ago...then this morning down 0.8lbs. Tomorrow is my official weigh in too. Don't give up okay?

I won't give up :) I feel like I've been through hell with my carb cold-turkey and now finally my body is adjusting. If I had one tiny carb I know that I would just get the cravings and headaches again and that is really not worth it! I know it will happen, I just assumed it would be a bit quicker esepcially in the first couple of weeks..but it's fine, there is no way that cutting carbs and junk food out of my diet will not make an impact, it's impossible, so just going to keep going and wait for it. It will be worth it!

That's what I like to hear! We are here to support you. I know that if I put any carb or sweets in my mouth right now I'd turn into a carbivore and devour everything in site (thank goodness most of the bad stuff is out of the house). Last night I fed my boys beef tortellini with cheese and I was not tempted (shocked my socks off) soon enough that will be a celebration meal. I was happy having my dukan friendly meatballs with veggies and a little sauce. This morning I was rewarded. Keep at it....and get moving if you already haven't started exercising

Have a PP day today or a low veg PV day. Don't eat anything today that is not on the list. Drink alot of water.... weigh in will be good.

Haha! I feel exactly the same. Everyone had chips from the takeway last night and I tell you know, my favourite foods: chips, cheese and chocolate. My 3 C's! And honestly I had eaten so much chicken that by that point, I didn't even bat an eyelid. It was okay. Plus I know that even if I had one of the smallest chips in the world my cravings would return and I can't think of anything worse! My partner is not on a diet and is eating normally so that's much harder because there are bad things in the house, I just have my own cupboard and know that I can't eat anything in any of the others. Tortellini! I grew up on those, it was like my staple diet as a kid. Love them. Thank you Preggo, Today is my designated protein only day anyway, I found my Whey (isolates) chocolate protein powder and I'm drinking that, only 3g carbs and 1g of fat and it fills me up until snack time. Also drinking ridiculous amounts of water but have to say I had half a can of coke zero, I threw the other half away. Porbably not a good idea but I was hungry and forgot to pack my morning snack :( and unfortunately my work canteen only stocks sandwiches full of mayo! I'm okay, I think that I probably ate far too much yesterday, I had around 50g of fat which is crazy - not going to have any eggs today. I know even if it doesn't happen tomorrow, it will happen. It has to! Maybe my body is still adjusting as it's only week 2... Thank you both! Amazing inspiration and motivation!

Is my British accent so strong that it comes across in writing as well?! :) I hear good things abour Costco! I swear it's where everyone buys everything from on your side of the globe! There and Walmart. Yeah, we don't have anything like that. I buy everything online! But wow, Canada. That's on my bucket list! Canada and New Zealand. Beautiful places.

Cold turkey is tough... Be patient. The body adjusts over time. Also keep an eye on sodium intake. For myself, too much sodium makes me retain water. SO try to stick with lower sodium meats if you can find em.
