Soooo....I'm starting a new plan tomorrow. I've been reading a lot of Dr. Jack Kruse's blog, listened to an interview with him yesterday, and trying to understand this whole endocrinology thing as best an untrained layperson can understand it. There is a whole lot more going on than calories in/calories out. It's really fascinating to me, and if there is someone reading this and wants to engage in discussions about leptin sensitivity and resistance and changing resistance to sensitivity through Dr. Kruse's dietary recommendations, I'd love it.

I realize not everyone cares about learning this stuff, and that's completely understandable. In fact, I think most people would just like to be told what to do to lose the fat. For me, it's motivating to immerse myself in the "why" of things, and to do my best to understand it.

I know for sure that the reason that so many people gain the weight back is because they have not changed their physiology and the way their body uses food. It's not their fault, they are not weak or unmotivated or lacking in character strength. It's not even that much "emotional" eating when your body is not able to efficiently use the food you give it and it wants more because it's still hungry. And then add exercise to that and it becomes more hungry!
