If you are on keto I have a couple of ideas...Do not eat more than 20 net carbs. Do not have sugar. Check a list on line for good foods to start with and stick to that. Drink a lot of water

You might try some of the Pilates breathing exercises; like you could do the hundred in bed. That’s great for core strength. He designed the program for people recovering in a war hospital so it might just work. Breathing exercises are good for stress too.

Try more water. Recommended for weight loss is 64oz or more a day. I sometimes think that I am drinking enough water until I actually count the water bottles and find out I didn’t get to 64oz. Hope this helps.

I wouldn't worry. Exercising can be done sitting look up isometrics. Any movement will burn calories.

It sounds like you may not be eating enough calories. Try eating at least 1200 calories and see if your weight decreases. Water intake and sleep are also important factors that can increase your fat loss chances. Keep up the great work, sometimes you just hit a plateau for some unknown reasons. Though keto may be great for some people, it looks like you are doing well with your nutrition, I would jump to another nutrition plan just yet. I eat plant based with beans, lentils, tons of greens veggies and I have lost almost 20lbs in about a month.

I think that 7.5 lbs since Jan 3rd is pretty good considering your lack of mobility. Can you exercise at all in your chair? Arm exercises? Anything? 2.5 lbs per week means that you are burning 9000 calories more than you are eating each week. Keep it up! The weight will come off.

Whatever exercise you can do — do it. Sitting in your wheelchair lifting light weights, if you are able to move your legs, march in place. Tape light weights to your shoes. At your weight it is going to be tough. Just be persistent in doing whatever you physically are able. Im in California— we have multiple early morning exercise programs that are related to SIT AND BE FIT. See if your area has them. Record and do throughout the day. Good luck.

When my grandmother was in a wheelchair, they had her lift soup and soda cans amongst other things. And exercise bands for whatever movements she could make. She did have a physical therapist there for all of this so that she wouldn’t get hurt.

watch some dr. eric berg videos for information and entertainment, and consider reading the obesity code by dr. fung. you can do this and you will be successful!!! you do not need to suffer with calorie restriction - there is a better way noted above!! :)

I agree with Rahshe03: When you limit your calories as low as you have, your metabolism slows. However, and I hope you can accept this criticism in the spirit is offered: After looking at your food stats (calories, fat, protein, carbs), it's seems that you don't understand the concept of low-carb/high-fat/moderate protein // KETOGENIC eating. You're eating *way* too much carbohydrate to qualifty as "low-carb." You're also eating much more protein than the "moderate" level in the keto WOE. Your fat consumption is *way* too low. (I'm addressing your actual food choices in my next post.)

@Sinatilove, your foods include sugar in your coffee, bread products (English muffins), high-carb packaged foods (French fries, Great Value Chicken Nuggets) that obviously have probably multiple types of sugar in the ingredients, fat-free salad dressing -- and it's deficient in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Going low-cal and not getting the proper nutrition will make you weaker. You don't say why you are confined to a wheelchair, but you can still -- and MUST -- educate yourself and whoever shops for and prepares your food. on the low-carb/high-fat/moderate protein way of eating. Dietdoctor.com has all the information you need, and it's free!

You want to lose a total of 135 pounds or thereabouts. I was 285 for many years, so I know you're suffering. GOOD NEWS!! This is a health EMERGENCY that you can TOTALLY ADDRESS with proper diet. Change to these choices to *greatly* increase your fat grams, *greatly* decrease your carb intake, and moderate your protein consumption. Dietdoctor.com has low-carb AND ketogenic food lists to choose from. Read on, my friend!
